Hello! I just wanted to make a thread specifically for those who are applying to the Samuel Merritt ABSN for a spring 2017 start. I'm applying to start in April 2017. It's the only program I'm applying to, as I can't afford more than a year without an income and I really want a BSN and not an MSN at this time. I'm done with my application, just waiting for nursing CAS to verify all my transcripts before I click submit! Currently working full time and taking my last 3 pre recs online. What about you?

oh that's good. My first choice is the April cohort, and I checked online, it said the registration for that cohort starts tomorrow. Goodluck to everyone on the waitlist. I'm sure it'll all workout.

Wow first off I am quite saddened regarding the news of Eugenia, she helped me out tremendously throughout the process and also told me that they would honor my TEAS test. Anyways I just found about this thread. I received an email on March 2 telling me I am waitlisted 2.0 of 41. Btw I only applied to the Oakland campus and I also got the very confusing offer for the Sac cohort in September. Also anybody else for a waitlist number that had point zero at the end? If they meant to put 20 of 41 then they are really playing heart attack games right now.

Hello all! Thanks so much for all the insights and best wishes! Chilerelleno, I am sad about Eugenia too, she helped me tremendously and was super sweet and tons of patience....I emailed her today and my email bounced back.... Nathalie, I was able to talk to someone at Oakland campus ( don't record the name) and I was informed the list is for the 3 Summer Cohorts! yeahhhh!! I still have hope I will make it! at this point, anywhere will works!! (I am leaving Sacramento for the last last last choice!) Yes, I can't sleep, can't eat, can't think, I am almost having a heart attack, no nails anymore at this point... super duper anxious! :-(

Hi Roosky, I have also been waiting to hear back. I've checked all my emails on my cell phone and desktop and still nothing. I also called San Mateo admissions office last week on Friday and the receptionist told me that i should call mid-week this week to ask for an update.

I have little hope since it sounds like the waitlist and acceptances have already gone out.

Hi Britt, don't lose hope. I'm sure we'll be fine. Derric emailed back today saying that decisions are still going out to students and I'll hear from them within this week. I'm not sure why we haven't heard back, but I'm sure it'll all workout for us.

Hello Jozefnsf, they do allow pre-requisite courses in-progress but all need to be done before the start of the program and will also need the final letter grades when you submit your letter of intent. If you get conditionally admitted but could not finish in time, you will lose your spot to someone else.

Hi all!! I just got an email this morning saying I've been accepted from the waitlist into the April San Mateo cohort!! I was #9 on the waitlist so people on the waitlist there's still hope!!! Have people ever heard of students who have switched into different cohorts?

Congrats finnieng!! Perhaps there is hope for us waitlisted. Did the counselor ever email you back about why the September 11 date was in the waitlist email?

Hi guys,

So I was 30th on the waitlist and I got an email saying that I was accpeted into the april cohort today. I do not know how that happened, but does anyone want april that got into june? I unfortunately I have one class left that I need to take and it ends in may. Does anyone know if we are allowed to switch cohorts?

Congrats to everyone that got in!! I pray that everyone on the wait list also gets in. I was accepted into the ABSN June Cohort but I gave up my seat because I also got into the ELMSN CM program. I wish you all the best.
