Hey everyone,
I know this is early, but the application period for the fall Sacramento and San Mateo cohort will soon be here! This might be the first thread. Anyway, application deadline isn't until April, but if people could post their past and current GPA's and their HESI test scores so I can get idea of what the pool of applicants is like. It is so hard to tell what a good application is for every application period.
My last 60 units GPA 3.9
Science GPA 3.1 (Maybe 3.5 if I can submit my new chemistry class that ends May 4th -- hopefully with a grade A in May).
HESI scores -- taking in February and in March -- if I have to retake it.
Working as an EMT for 7 months.
No volunteer experience.
Hi everyone!
I was sooo anxious about getting admission that I didn't even comment on this thread till i got the acceptance letter! I feel like I know some of you already, since I've been reading this forum diligently from the beginning :)
I'm going to the San Mateo campus, and will be commuting from Campbell (about 37 miles south, next to San Jose). I'm super excited and can't wait to meet you all and have huge hugs and nervous laughs over having gotten past the crazy admissions journey, and now the real work (and meaningful fun, I hope!) begins.
Congratulations to everyone who got in, and best of luck to everyone still waiting. It took me ages to decide if this was worth the money, since I applied to several cheaper out of state schools where I got in. But I love the open mindedness of the Bay, and I like how SMU focuses on diversity in nursing.
Cheers, my fellow nurses to be!
Hey all, I emailed a financial counselor and she said we won't get our financial package until september or earlier since they're busy working with the cohort admitting before us. She did send me a cost of attendance flyer and some basic information about financial aid (even though I will need to take out loans eventually).

Wait sorry, but our cohort starts in September? Wouldnt we have to figure out how to pay for school by then--i.e. take out loans, and how much to apply for?

I think it takes a bit. I submitted mine the day we got the acceptance letters, but it didnt update until today that the system said I submitted everything and can move onto the enrollment process.
