Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2020

Hi All,

I didn't see a thread for the Samuel Merritt ABSN summer 2020 cohort and just wanted to start one, as I know most of us are in the process of applying right now. I applied to the Sacramento campus, but am currently waitlisted. I just wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations on how to be more competitive aside from GPA (as I am going to retake some courses to up my GPAs). I love that Samuel Merritt looks at applicants holistically. Please share the wisdom , whether you are applying or you are already in the program. Thank you and have a blessed day !

Mine also says accepted into San Mateo June start date!! Yay! Oakland May start was my first choice and it's still on there saying "Application is being reviewed for Oakland", not sure what that means, if they might still accept me for Oakland then I'd have a choice? I'm just ecstatic I got into the program at all, OMG I've been going nuts! Congrats to those so far that have made it and crossing fingers for anyone that hasn't heard yet. Hoping this means we'd get emails tomorrow?

How do you check the portal? Did you guys take a class with SMU? I don’t have a sign in.

Does that portal message for sure mean you got in? Or does it have that for people on the wait list as well?

Go on Samuel merritts website, top right hand corner says “find info for”, click and select “admitted students”, sign in and it’ll say “congratulations you’ve been admitted”, but select “checklist” to see your real status. I hope it helps!

I feel like it means you’re admitted if on the bottom of the “congrats you’ve been admitted to whatever cohort” there is a place for you to submit your letter of intent. People who are on the waitlist can’t submit a letter of intent. That’s actually my best guess, maybe I actually got waitlisted ? I’m praying for all of us that we get our emails tomorrow!!

When you clicked on the letter of intent does it direct you to another login? And were you able to login with the same username and password?

I am getting the same thing but I still haven't received an email yet so I am getting nervous.

I believe you get the acceptance email at 8am the next day, and then another email on the same day but later. The second email will have the password to log you into the letter of intent area ?

I just got an acceptance letter... to the wrong campus! I was apparently accepted for San Mateo but only applied for Oakland. I waiting to for a response right now to make sure I'm still being considered for Oakland ?
