Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2020

Hi All,

I didn't see a thread for the Samuel Merritt ABSN summer 2020 cohort and just wanted to start one, as I know most of us are in the process of applying right now. I applied to the Sacramento campus, but am currently waitlisted. I just wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations on how to be more competitive aside from GPA (as I am going to retake some courses to up my GPAs). I love that Samuel Merritt looks at applicants holistically. Please share the wisdom , whether you are applying or you are already in the program. Thank you and have a blessed day !

I created a new facebook to be able to communicate with the cohort. I think it would be beneficial. Lots of good info on there.

Hey! I was in the same boat until a few weeks ago and ended up making an account strictly for the page. Just make it so people can't search your name and don't add any friends. The page is great because people are regularly posting and you can ask questions/clarify things. A lot of that would get lost in translation if someone was just posting highlights.

Hi all! For those that is currently attending SMU, I am debating between Oakland and San Mateo campus, I was wondering what are you guys experiences so far (pros and cons)? I have heard that the Oakland campus may be more organized than San Mateos? Thank you in advance!

When it comes to SMU, there is no thing as organized. Be prepared for fluctuations, I’m at the Oakland campus currently.

Can you give me an example of what type of fluctuations, like clinical schedules?
