Hello!
I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....
Looking forward to hearing from you all :)
Hello! I currently work for a large healthcare provider purchasing pharmaceuticals for multiple sites, before that I was purchasing for the ambulatory surgery centers for the same healthcare provider. I've been there for 3 years now. I also have my EMT and massage therapy license (both expired now). I volunteered at a physical therapy office working with patients for a few months as well.
Still haven't received mine, or heard back from the person I contacted. I'll just try to practice some patience since I applied 6/24 so they probably haven't got to mine yet. Plus I had 2 in progress classes I just finished. :/
As for healthcare experience, I have been working at an outpatient health clinic for the past 5.5 years as a Registered Dietitian. Looking to switch careers.
Just heard back from SM - they are still sending out preliminary review emails and will be doing so for at least the next week. They go through them one-by-one, so if you haven't heard, you likely will hear in the near future. Hope that calms some nerves! Helped me for sure.
Glad to hear you heard back! Funny how we've been driving ourselves crazy waiting for a preliminary review. Now, the next 2 month wait begins .
Hi everyone,
I got my preliminary review email on July 17th but I have applied in the past so maybe it is a faster process. I have 5 years experience as a Practice Coordinator at a small practice. My job was a lot of hands on direct patient care.
Is the timeline to hear back really as late as October? The last cycle only took less than two months from the application due date.
Good luck to everyone!
Hey guys! For those of you that completed patho at SBCC, how was the workload? I am taking that with micro, nutrition, and psych while working part time. I just wanted to get an idea how many hours a week you found necessary to study. I took physio and pharm over the summer and felt like I studied an average of 8 hours a day but managed to get A's in both. Thanks for the info!
