I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....
WebbC1, did you check your spam folder? I think someone found their preliminary email there. If you still haven't seen it, maybe call the school? You definitely got one from NursingCAS saying your application was submitted and verified, right? If you didn't get the verification email from NursingCAS, I would start there. Any grades in progress or transcript/LOR's that hadn't been turned in when you submitted?

I haven't received mine either and my last name starts with a B. I called and left a message @ SMU to follow up re: preliminary review email and will update when I hear back.
Thanks! That gives me a bit of relief...I've been grinding my teeth waiting for an email as well.
I was thinking maybe because I still have an in progress patho class at SBCC finishing up next week that put me at the end of the list...figured they would review folks who had everything completed first...
I am also taking the patho class at SBCC currently! With Maywood. My friend has courses in progress too, and she received hers on the 23rd. That was my thought too... It definitely eases my nerves knowing I'm not alone! We'll keep each other up to date.
Bebimbop, webbc1, and rdn2rn, let us know what you find out. Either if you finally get your email or if the school tells you something. Hopefully it will be fine. I was wondering about in-progress classes too since the preliminary check is to make sure you're fully qualified to move on, but if someone else had in-progress classes and received theirs, who knows? As long as you know you dotted all your i's and crossed all your t's, I wouldn't worry too much. I would be interested to know though, as it might provide a little insight into this overly-long-and-ridiculously-stressful application process.

Hi everyone! I just found this page and also applied to the Sacramento ABSN and ELMSN-FNP programs. I received my preliminary e-mail on July 9th and the wait since then has been killing me! I know people said in the past that they do not typically release any information until the end of October, so it could be a while!
Hi Friends! I received my confirmation of the preliminary review today at 12:50pm from Samuel Merritt. They are still sending them out :) There is hope, still!
