I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....
I also haven't heard anything.. this wait is terrible. I emailed the counselor at Sacramento campus yesterday regarding my ELMSN application for Sacramento and she told me all final decisions will be sent out by mid to late October, so along the lines of what others have been told.
Does anyone think they are waiting to see how many of the accepted applicants confirm their addmission, which would put it at Oct 13 if they have 10 days to accept?
Chris, that could be it. To see the response, and how many acceptances they are getting. I honestly have no idea what they are up to, you think that they would want a wait list out for people too...
But isn't that the purpose of the waitlist? If the accepted people end up not going through with samuel merritt, they pull from the waitlist. They're messing with us I swear! Lol....it would be nice at this point to just know, even if it isn't an acceptance
Well they released more yesterday so idk if they're doing that. Plus some of the ELMSN students applied to both programs so if they were going to wait I would think it would have been to see if people applying to both programs would choose one program over another to make room in either program.
That was my thought exactly. I'm not sure why they've set it up this way as opposed to previous years. My biggest concern is I've deffered acceptance to another school and paid a deposit in hopes that I get into one of the programs but am not hearing anything and I'm on a time crunch . I just want to know either way like everyone else! I'm worried that they'll just ghost us instead of sending a proper rejection though
That was my thought initially too I guess. I applied to both programs so I was expecting to see a rejection or something from at least one of them but all's quiet.
Just received a response when asking about the status of my application for ABSN and was told that it was still being reviewed and will hear back with a decision within 2 weeks.

Not gonna lie, 2 weeks is feeling like its going to be an eternity at this point. But I guess we don't have a choice but to keep hanging in there, waiting, and hoping.

For sure. Maybe more logical to assume it is due to both programs enrolling around the same time and sounds like multiple people applied to both. Hopefully it is safe to say two weeks now and it should be sooner. We will all be back at the inbox refresher on Monday:) Congrats to everyone that got in thus far and good luck to all of those who haven't heard.
I wonder if the people who heard were also ones who applied for the ELMSN program as well. Anyone who got accepted is this true? Just trying to figure out why they told a few now and not everyone.
My classmate that got in only applied for ABSN program. BUT, she did get her preliminary review notice back a few weeks before I received mine. I am just being hopeful that they kept those in the same order? I dont know..
