Samuel Merritt ABSN - Spring 2019

Published

Hello!

I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....

Looking forward to hearing from you all :)

I hope you find out before you go too! It'd be great to either celebrate your admission, or drown your sorrows out in the ocean (or in a mai tai, your pick!).

I was hoping it would be a celebration but it may be to down my sorrows out. My birthday is also in October so I'm going to keep hoping I get an acceptance letter as a birthday present.

I hope you end up having a great birthday too!

Thanks! I just hope to hear back soon. Even if it's bad news, it's still better than no news.

Do we know how many people are being accepted each day? 5? 7? If it's 28 for each cohort, wouldn't 7 people be accepted each day for 4 days straight? And if the trend is to receive an email every morning at 7am, then maybe we only have two more mornings of acceptance letters?

Probably overthinking it.

I was waitlisted no. 12 for the fall and only moved up to no. 9. I was more hopeful for the spring of 2019 but now I'm not so sure. I do think more people are moved off the waitlist because I think more people find out about other programs they applied to that they consider enrolling at.

We have no idea how many are being accepted each day. There are 12 currently in the facebook group so I am assuming at least 12 acceptances have gone out. There are 48 spots per cohort though so a few more days I would assume.

45 if you count the 3 that were accepted off of the top of the last cohort's waitlist

A coworker of mine applied there and I've looked at the program. Their application process isn't through nursingCAS it's just through the website. There is some info available on the program just on their website, but my coworker said much more info is available after you apply. Maybe give their admissions a call and see if they have any info sessions or open houses? I know they have classes starting year round.

edit: this is about chamberlain.

I don't know about anyone else but I still haven't gotten anything.

Nothing here. :/

Another day... another disappointing look into an empty email box.

If there's 12 or 13 already in the FB group, we have to assume that there are probably other applicants who aren't on this message board or looking into joining the FB group. I'm going to err on the side of caution and say that I think about 1/3 of the seats are already gone. Maybe more? At this point, I just want to hear back so I can start making plans for how to improve my application. :(

Nothing here... Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh
