This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to Samuel Merritt's Accelerated BSN programs in San Francisco, Oakland, or San Mateo for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission. San Mateo had a July 1 and Nov 1 deadline, I applied to both. I received a letter the first week in November (in regards to the July 1 deadline) that I was number 48 of 50 waitlisted. This was the first I heard from them regarding that application!! So I am pretty sure I will not be offered admission to that program. Does it seem like a long time that it takes approx 3 1/2 to 4 months to hear anything regarding admission?
I don't know if being waitlisted once will help my chances of getting into any of their other programs or not. I emailed them shortly after the November 1st deadline to find out how long before we will hear anything. And they said they will not be sending out admission offers until at least mid-February!!
I would love to hear from anyone else that has experience with Samuel Merritt's admission process especially from those that were accepted recently. Does anyone know how many applications they receive?
Have you emailed Lizzie or admissions? Are you going for ABSN? Fall or Summer? Hmmm...
Yah, I sent mine at the end of October, like the last possible day before the deadline overnight via UPS. I didn't do a check, I did a money order because I though they would process it faster maybe. I didn't even think of that. LOL, that's another way to track the application process through the bank account. Very clever.
LaurenLL, thanks for the tip about sending prereq verification to SBCC, it's a great idea.
UCLover, PM me about taking Pathio at SBCC, it'd be nice to have a online class buddy!
I still haven't received my confirmation email that my application has been received yet...I emailed them last Monday to see what the hold up was. Response was that they had just moved offices, and she would notify me when she finds my file. Ai ya...and my check hasn't been cashed either. No way did the school not receive my application b/c I submitted it in person.
As for the numbers of accepted/applicants, she told me 200/250...maybe she was overexaggerating? Way overexaggerating? Well, this is the lady that potentially lost my application so maybe her numbers are off.
Wow! I hope she was exxagerating on those numbers. That's a lot with only one campus open. I hand delivered mine as well and when I did they were in the middle of moving. There were boxes everywhere! I talked with ------- and she told me they planned to start notifying by May. Hopefully that's the case. I really hope I get in because if not I will have to takes my TEAS over. It's only good for 2 years for SMU. Good luck to everyone.

Ashlee! I'm going to San Mateo too. Everyday I get more excited. I live in S.J., how about you?
