This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to Samuel Merritt's Accelerated BSN programs in San Francisco, Oakland, or San Mateo for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission. San Mateo had a July 1 and Nov 1 deadline, I applied to both. I received a letter the first week in November (in regards to the July 1 deadline) that I was number 48 of 50 waitlisted. This was the first I heard from them regarding that application!! So I am pretty sure I will not be offered admission to that program. Does it seem like a long time that it takes approx 3 1/2 to 4 months to hear anything regarding admission?
I don't know if being waitlisted once will help my chances of getting into any of their other programs or not. I emailed them shortly after the November 1st deadline to find out how long before we will hear anything. And they said they will not be sending out admission offers until at least mid-February!!
I would love to hear from anyone else that has experience with Samuel Merritt's admission process especially from those that were accepted recently. Does anyone know how many applications they receive?
hello everyone, well, i am a late add! i am very excited but very rushed and nervous. i start with the monday group. just a few questions.... i am assuming everyone has already purchased text books and materials? i just was able to register today. also, do most if you live in the sf area? any commuters from the modesto stockton area? i am from outside modesto and will be driving up to dublin for bart until i make better arrangements. thanks guys look forward to meeting everyone.
Hi Everyone! I am currently taking pre-req's for Sam Merritt's ABSN program, I'm hoping to complete all my pre-req's by the end of Spring semester. I wanted to see if anyone could give me any insight with regards to applying. I've met with a counselor at Sam Merritt a few times but think first hand experience from any of you would really help. I'm really curious about the volunteer experience you listed on the application and the types of people you had write your letters of recommendation. Congrats to those of you who got into the program! I'm shooting to apply for the Nov 2011 cohort and Jan 2012 cohort... super excited! Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
This is for everyone in the ABSN program. I know this thread is form last year but I was hoping to find out about how you are doing now that you have had time to go through it. Why did you choose Samuel Merritt?Would you do it again knowing what you know now? What was the work load like? As crazy busy as everyone makes it seem? How do you recommend I prepare for the program, should I be brushng up on pathophys, pharm, physiology? I've just been accepted and I'm trying to decide if this is the right fit for me. Thanks!!
