I did, along with a coworker of mine. I also applied to three other schools. No word yet though, the deadline for apps will be here in no time!:nuke:
Any advice?
Right now just wait and see if you get an interview. At most schools, it's not hard to get an interview. At Samford, I don't think they interview as many as other schools. If you get an interview, you've already accomplished something. Let me know.

I did too. I applied last year and made alternate. I hope this time I'll get in. Last year interview invites came mid-July, and the interview was mid-August. Good luck to all.

I just finished my first semester at Samford University yesterday. I am trying to recover and catch up on my sleep! It was the hardest thing I have done in my life thus far, but it was definitely worth it. Samford is a great program and the program director is an incredible teacher! The atmosphere is great and the faculty are so genuinely kind. I cannot imagine being anywhere else. Good luck to you guys, I hope you get the opportunity to interview! :)

bamacrna2b thats good news, i think i would have liked samford from what i've read about it and hearing other folks first hand exp. there, but since they are starting the doctrate thing i'll be looking elsewhere for a education in anesthesia unfortunatley.
Just to clarify, Samford University is not a doctorate program. It is still a masters program. The doctorate is not required at this time. You would be applying to enter the masters program. The DNP is offered but it can be done online after you are practicing as a CRNA if you wish to have it. Samford is certainly an excellent option.
Samford is not a doctorate program. Samford offers an optional DNP which can be completed online after you finish the masters in nurse anesthesia. So, if you desire a doctorate it can be completed at Samford and if you do not then you do not have to until it is required.
do you know if they will be initiating a docterate program within the next 1-2yrs for the crna route?

I applied too. I was told we should hear about interviews around July 7th.
