Hello,
Is anyone out there applying to SHSU's Fall BSN program?
@zurie, I too was rejected to both UTMB and UT Health. You aren't alone. I also plan on reapplying but I'm just waiting for this spring to end. Got 3 more A's goin' on my transcript!
Yeah, Sam Houston has different requirements. Just a heads up, they are going to tell you if you're core complete at your college then they can waive those remaining pre-reqs. And since you've done all the prereqs for the UT schools you should be fairly close. I'm in the same boat as you. All I have left to take to be core complete at my CC is speech and a Phys Ed credit. 2 more easy A's if you ask me.
@motchy10 Awesome! I thought it wasn't until October so that's great to know.
@tameshiajames I just did a lot of practice tests and quizzes. I bought one of the study books and worked through it. It's not too late for you to retake it, right?
@zurie, It was supposed to be October of 2013. Last year.
But yeah, this is great information! I feel more comfortable about the education I would be receiving if I decide to go there!
Anyone know how soon admission decisions would be given out? There are only 2 months in between the deadline and start of the program.
Hi everyone!
Does anyone have info about SHSU's program itself? I can't find any info about their nursing program. Like if they have orientation? where are their clinicals? what's their weekly schedule kind of thing? I just found out about the SHSU program.
I previously attend an accelerated nursing program (UHV) but withdrew after my 2 month experience there.
I'd like to take it slow and attend a 2 year program and am wanting to go to TWU but now I'm considering SHSU's nursing program but am hesitant because I know nothing about it. Will you please give me info on their program? Thank you.
Thanks for reading :)

Do you like the program so far? How are the professors? Is it organized? What year are you?
Thank you for your time,

I like the program alot. Sam was not my first choice, but I think it is the best program for me.
The professors are great! We don't have as many professors or students as other nursing programs, since we are still fairly new, so everyone gets to know each other quickly which is good.
I just finished my first semester in May and I'm currently in summer semester.

@inspiredbynavy I did post in both of those but I was rejected at both for the Fall '14 starts. I've already reapplied to both for Spring '15.
I called to find out about my missing classes and was told I need to email my adviser. I wrote her yesterday but have not heard back yet. From what I can tell, it looks like some of my credits didn't transfer properly. It doesn't help that SHSU has slightly different requirements than the UT schools (where I am prerequisite complete).
