So I have applied for SU's aBSN for fall entry of 2014. I have been checking out threads on this site from applicants from years past and was just looking for insight from other applicants during this waiting process! I have turned everything in but just curious if anyone has received any confirmation that the college has received all of their application materials. I know that they don't really start notifying applicants until February/March but I just wanted to hear from other applicants to help me through this process!
Anyone else applied for Salisbury's accelerated 2nd degree program for the fall of 2014?
That is fine with me...I'd be glad to talk to you more if you have any other questions so just let me know. :) Your prerequisite grades are definitely better than mine were...the others I forgot were Micro: C & Statistics: B. Like I said, they take all of your application info into consideration so hopefully you'll get in. :)
WOW!! Ok, so I know my application will be a toss up! I have a 3.01 from my first degree (thanks to a very unfortunate freshman year) but I literally have an A in all the pre reqs (except for a B in Stats and I'm holding off on patho until I get accepted) + I have alot of hospital, research and volunteering experience. Well, I guess all I can do is sit back and watch what happens! I just took my TEAS exam as well and got an 81.3, which I think is a sucky score, but Salisbury doesn't require it.
Thanks for sharing your info cdg07101114! Since this program doesn't require the TEAS, I thought I would be at a major disadvantage not having a 3.5 GPA or higher. However, I'm a bit relieved to know that they look at the WHOLE package, because I do feel that I am a great candidate and would make a great nurse! Fingers crossed!:)
Oh also, for those who haven't taken pathophysiology yet, I took it through college of southern MD, online with Margaret Bolton. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was fantastic, the class materials were all available from day one (so I finished early), and I felt like it was a nice refresher of basic a/p, with a little bit of medical terminology and a basic familiarity with common disease processes. Highly recommend it.

cdg07101114- Thanks for the response as it provided me with a lot of insight as to where I stand at this point with getting in to the program. I have a friend who applied as well and she received a letter yesterday saying she was not accepted. Her GPA was below a 3.0 and mine is a 3.45 so I feel as if I have a chance. I also work as a CNA currently, volunteered in the ER and have experience as an EMT. My degree was relevant to the field and I have a lot of volunteer and research experience. So I am hoping for the best and haven't heard much at this point except for that they have received all of my materials (which I only know because I followed up on that). My pre reqs are:
A&P 1- A
A&P 2- C
Microbiology- A
Chemistry 1- A-
Statistics- A
Pathophysiology- will take if accepted
I thank you so much for response. IF I get in I would LOVE to talk to you more about the program and everything. I will contact you either way if that is okay with you to find out a little bit more.
