So I have applied for SU's aBSN for fall entry of 2014. I have been checking out threads on this site from applicants from years past and was just looking for insight from other applicants during this waiting process! I have turned everything in but just curious if anyone has received any confirmation that the college has received all of their application materials. I know that they don't really start notifying applicants until February/March but I just wanted to hear from other applicants to help me through this process!
Anyone else applied for Salisbury's accelerated 2nd degree program for the fall of 2014?
Here is the link. I hope it works.
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this post, and apologize for jumping on so late, but am very interested in applying for the 2016 cohort at Salisbury and can't for the life of me find the calendar for this program on Salisbury's website! I see it is 3 semesters - is that Fall, Spring and Summer? Or Fall, Spring and fall? My husband is military and will be in Italy. I would like to spend time with him so am looking for something quick, that would allow me to also get the Italy experience (he will be there for three years). I live in Maryland so am looking into these options and Salisbury certainly seems to fit best! Now that many of you are close to starting or have already started, I would love an idea of what the overall calendar looks like!
Also, any recommendations for reputable online pre-reqs would be great. I went to Vanderbilt for my undergrad, as a Communications and Art double major, and received my Masters of Science from Hopkins in Educational Studies, but my science is lacking!!
Thank you for any insight and hope you are all enjoying things so far!
Kate
To answer your question, the do not have a calendar listed anywhere on the Nursing Department site, however, here is a PDF of the curriculum: http://www.salisbury.edu/checklists/2010%20Checklists/Henson%202010-2011/Nursing%20Second%20Degree%2010-11.pdf As you can see the program consists of 3 semester, fall, spring and fall
Also, in terms of "reputable" on-line classes, you can pretty much take them anywhere as long you think the school itself is reputable. The easiest (as in less hassle) and cheapest route would be to take on-line classes at your local community college. That's what I did and it was just as challenging if not more than a regular class. I did however, take Pathophysiology over the summer through UCLA Extension and the course cost me about $700.
