Salisbury Accelerated BSN Applicants for 2014

Published

So I have applied for SU's aBSN for fall entry of 2014. I have been checking out threads on this site from applicants from years past and was just looking for insight from other applicants during this waiting process! I have turned everything in but just curious if anyone has received any confirmation that the college has received all of their application materials. I know that they don't really start notifying applicants until February/March but I just wanted to hear from other applicants to help me through this process!

Anyone else applied for Salisbury's accelerated 2nd degree program for the fall of 2014?

Busybee91- Thanks!

Wannabe81- of course I'll share my background.

i graduated from Salisbury university majoring in biology and respiratory therapy. I ended up not liking respirator therapy so decided to change to nursing. I graduated with a 3.25 gpa. My pre-requisites were average. I got a B in everything except for a C in A&P 1. But I have a lot if experience in the hospital due to my RT background and I was also an ER scribe for 3 years. My essay was also just average because I am really a terrible writer. I think my background gave me an edge because as you can see my grades aren't that amazing. If there's anything else you would like to know just ask!

Shorew2013- Yes I will be and I'm so excited!, will you be attending as well??!

Yes those are my plans for the fall!

Congrats azngurl6189!!!:) I was an ER Scribe too!! What hospital did you work at? I started at GW Hospital during my training and then moved to Virginia Hospital Center.

Ok so I haven't heard anything yet, but I got a letter dated the 20th of February discussing the "Top Ten Features" of the SU Nursing program. Did anyone else get this letter?? Shot, now I'm nervous!

Oh and congrats shorew2013!!!:)

Hmmm...I guess I didn't get in since you all got an acceptance letter and I only got an informational letter.

Oh gosh I guess I'll be seeing you then!

Pinkeagle- Thanks!

I was a ER scribe at PRMC in Salisbury and then at Upper Chesapeake and harford memorial in Bel Air! And that's awesome that you were a scribe too because it's a relatively new thing on the east coast.

And I never got such letter, it's weird that you got that instead of an acceptance/wait list letter. If I were you, I would call su and ask or you could just wait.... But I know I would be impatient. !

lol, I'm going to call 1st thing tomorrow morning! It's just weird because it was dated the same day you guys got your acceptance letters and it was singed by Lisa Seldomridge who is the chair of the department. Why on earth would she send me an informational letter and nothing else??? I mean I ALREADY KNOW what the program has to offer. If I call tomorrow and am rejected I will be pretty disappointed!

Thanks! And I received that letter a while ago like in December or so after I applied I believe. But I would definitely contact and make sure they have received everything. They do they acceptances in pools so maybe you are in the next round to be contacted. Our responses are due by tomorrow (Friday) so I would expect something the beginning of March.

I called Mrs. Boger today and she confirmed that they received all of my documents. She couldn't explain why I had received that letter but that decisions had been sent in the mail and that I should hear something by March 16th....fingers crossed!
