Hi..I have an interview with Fresenius Medical (FMC) in New Jersey. I am a new nurse (new grad). Does anyone know what the starting salary or hourly pay is for a new grad starting out at FMC?

Hello naz22o.. and CONGRATS, New Grad!!! :balloons:
Not sure about Davita, but FMC pays according to geographical area.. comprable to what the going rate is for RNs in your area.. perhaps a tad less due to Medicare reimbursement issues.
So what I would make HERE would be FAR LESS than what you could expect in NJ. That's all I know to tell you.. perhaps someone else will come along who might have a better idea of what the NJ pay rate might be.
Wish you luck. :)

I work for FMC and have 20 years nursing experience (12 in dialysis & for FMC since they bought out our private unit 2 yrs ago). I don't want to burst your bubble, you sound very excited, but dialysis pay rates are much lower than the hospitals. For example: I only make about a dollar more an hour than a new grads starting salary working at a local hospital on med/surg & I have 12 years of dialysis experience and 20 total years of RN nursing. (the hospital pay rate was on their web site and in the local employment ads). We have lost so many staff members over pay rates it is ridiculous, FMC management is always telling us they are going to conduct a "salary survey", I wish they would get to it soon.

Look at your overall benefits!! Do they have vesting, do they have matching for 401K, if single do you get free insurance or pay? I'm leaving Davita at $22.00/Hr to go to another company at $26.00/hr and the benefits are extremely better. Many companies use the "bonus" or profit sharing which personally sucks. I'd rather have a good benefit package for long term without the profit sharing. That 50% match to 401K looks alot better to me than that profit sharing check down the road. You also dont hear someone grip for using that extra chux or bandaid either lol. Also look at do you have to use your PTO till it's gone before you can use sick time if out? Davita for instance does this where as the new company I'm going to doesnt, they use sick time and let me keep my PTO for when I want to take it or need it.

Fresenius Medical Care North Amarica ruined my life. For one year of working on them, i was given a irresponsible lawyer. I was given a work authorization but failed to ahave an approval in I-140. Including my family's dream was ruined. I was force to fly back to my coutry. Yes, before i go home their paying me 28/hr. I was in the Acute. My lawyer failed to submit the additional evidence that the USCIS is asking on time. LATE submission. So much....

Wow.. that really is a shocker, Trauma. Everywhere else I've heard of they pay 2-3 $$ LESS than local hospital RNs. Interesting. It may vary from state to state.

Here in Spokane, Fresenius pays SIGNIFICANTLY LESS than hospitals. I was offered $23 an hour without benefits (I am covered under my husband's insurance). My base was $21 an hour with benefits.
The pay here in Spokane is low, but not that low. They get nurses to work for them because it is out side of the hospital, and not exactly patient care. Unfortunately, that is life in Spokane. Nurse here would work for minimun wage.

Wow guys - I didn't have a clue. They HAVE to pay more because the hospitals attract RNs by providing MUCH better benefits. I actually work for the nephrologists so I don't have exact figures but I do know its about $2-3 more an hour. And...they take new grads.
