I am in a small hospital in Ontario and the RPNs here make about $26/hr to start. It does vary though, depending on the employer.LTC and community nurses make less.

I'm currently in Ontario. My area reflects RPN wages at 17$/hr - 28$/hr to start, depending on which field of nursing you start in. I currently make 21$/hr.

I'm in Alberta and we make $24.44-$32/hr base rate. Plus the shift differential in Alberta is really good compared to some other provinces. We get and extra $5/hr for nights and an extras $3.25/hr on top of that if it's a weekend. This means that for me, an LPN with a few years experience and a nights only line that I make $32.55/hr during the week and $35.80 on the weekends. My unit has also just started allowing LPN's to be trained as night charge nurses so I have been trained for this and now receive charge premium as well. So for me working a night shift on the weekend pays $37.05 and hour and I am only step 4 the pay scale ( it goes up to 8).
Oh and OP, I should mention to you that I also went to school in NB and worked at a hospital there briefly after I graduated. I am so glad made the decision to move to Alberta. Not only is the pay much better than in NB but LPN's are treated with much more respect and work to our full scope here. In NB I felt more like an aide than a nurse. Just be prepared to do a lot of learning if you move here!
