Anyone accepted for the Fall 2008 semester? I just got my acceptance letter!!! Yay!!! :)
still looking out for minehow much info is included....what day is orientation??
Orientation is Wednesday Aug 27th.
They included tuition info, financial aid info, BCLS certification info, and they touched a lil on uniforms. They told us the company we get it through, but that more info on the uniforms would be provided during orientation (which by the way is 9-3).
Oh and there are some health forms we gotta get filled out.
i really need to focus on the current task at hand so when im done with my ADN then ill focus on what schools i will attend. it seems far but when ur in class the semester goes by so quickly....that uniform store is the only one that carries the schools clinical color tops, the pants and shoes you can get anywhereOk so I'll definitely will go to a hospital...plus u'll utilize your learned skills more. so what schools r u looking into...and how soon after u graduate r you going for your BSN?? also how does a CRNA differ from a doctor doing anesthesiology... hows job opportunities for that? so MT Sinai is a pretty good hospital...thats where your friends started making 70K?
How difficult is it to both get in & stay in the nursing program at St. Vincent's in Queens? Is the school more rigid about academic requirements or about the same as other colleges? I know all nursing programs are tough in general, but I just want to get a general idea. Right now I'm taking A&P I at NCC (so hopefully I can transfer the credits later on if/when I apply to SV). Feel free to post or PM me with comments about personal experiences at St. Vincent's in Queens. I'd appreciate it! Thanks in advance.
so...guys I called the school today. they say that indeed, the night program is from 5-11 and is 5 days a week and starts on january. but the day program starts when? in the Fall only? or they have Spring admissins to?
also, I have to go there and pickup an application.I am reluctant to apply coz is sooooooooooo far from my home! I live in Queens and is realy out of my way I was wondering how much time I would need to travel every day to school!:icon_roll
anyway, I'll think about it!
thanks again, everyone!

Tootsie,
The day program os only admitted in the Fall. What part of Queens do you live in? The school is right off the LIE by Utopia Pkwy. Are you maybe mixing up the Queens and Staten Island locations?
Does SVCMC still knock off a semester for LPNs if they challenge the exam?
we have one LPN in our class, she bypassed the first semester( fundamentals, drug dasage and calc, theraputic interactions) credit was given to every class she completed. she has to take all three semsters in full with the rst of us though
Yes stiltarget that's the way I remembered it. Maybe Heln Fuld is a better bet if one is a LPN already then. All in all SVCMC is a great school!! Hang in there. My mother graduated from there after being a LPN an has no problem finding jobs. She says she will not get the BSN but still continues to do her thing!!
