Was this person a nurse? Have they went through LPN school? Don't let someone ruin your good day. You have every reason to be excited and proud. LPN's school is very hard work. Ignore them. Be proud.
After telling somebody that I was excited to be getting my lpn school uniform, I was told that LPN meant Little Pretend Nurse.this made me sad, I have worked Very hard to get where I am, I have taken ALL of my prerequisites for the RN program as well but I have chosen this path. Didn't make for a great day
This person was a PA. I am over it now but it sure made for a cloud! Thanks for your encouragement. Career decisions are hard to make. My husband and I decided that this was the best one for now because of how the cost of living is around here. I live in maryland and there has been a huge house boom and everything is just going up like crazy. We want to be able to sustain our lives here and for our 2 year old little girl. As well as I don't want to be in school forever when she is little

I'm very sorry that happened to you. LVNs are some amazing people, and I trust some of the one's I work with more than I do the RNs. Don't let what people say about your profession get you down!! They're just misguided (that means either jealous or stupid..or both). You've chosen a career that makes other's lives better..what is better than that?
Smile. Study hard, and don't worry so much about other's opinions.
And have a better day!!

Thanks for the comments. They made me smile. I am very excited about starting. A little nervous, because I really want to do well and i know it is a challenge. I am glad I got the pre reqs done before the nursing classes. It would be hard to do A and P and psych etc concurrent with the nursing classes themselves. Thanks again. This is a great website!
Ohhh, I hate that! Dont let anyone rain on your parade. This is what you want to do, doesnt matter how you do it. Nothing wrong with being an LPN. LPN school is hard work, being an LPN is hard. Been there, done that. Once you do go on to RN school, if you choose to, then that will give you an enormous amount of experience to build on.
Congrats to you and good luck.
