Hi everyone- I wanted to start a thread for those of us who have become accustomed to living on the edge of our seats, who would like some moral support, and who applied/ will apply for Sac States BSN program for Spring 2022. Anyone know the point cutoff for the last class? Did they end up taking 80 students? How many points do you have?

We have had several Tuesdays/Wednesdays off up until this point but that will change soon and we will have to go to our clinical sites to prep for our clinical days. If you’re put into an odd section then you will be 4 days a week with Fridays off. Be sure not to mistake that as having “Fridays off” because there is A LOT of school work/asynchronous work to be done. Even with all the random Tuesdays/Wednesdays I’ve had off, I haven’t been able to work up until this point because of the workload.
At the mandatory orientation, the professors told us if we have to work, don’t work more than 10 hours a week (or else that is where they see students struggle). This is a FULL TIME JOB. It is exhausting and there is no such thing as being caught up with the work. Be ready, have your ducks in a row, and have a strong support system.
Thank you so much for painting such a great picture as to what to expect! I work with several nurses who have told me you eat, sleep, breathe nursing school. Do you get summers off or does the program work through Summer too?

Correction: Even groups have Fridays off.
You have summers off from classes but volunteer/healthcare work is highly encouraged.

Hi Erica! 76 points is great! Do you mind sharing which of the optional points categories you were able to get points for?
Hi Carter,
The community college points, first generation points, no repeats & 100 hrs CNA. Think that's it LOL. Heidi said at the application seminar Fall 2021 had a record number of applicants & Spring 2022 hadn't received as many at that point. Hopefully the cutoff is more reflective of normal.

That’s great. I have 72 points (4.0 non adjusted and 93.3 TEAS) but I didn’t get the local student points or no repeat points unfortunately. I didn’t know there was an application seminar. I applied for the Fall 2021 program but my TEAS score was lower then. I’m hoping that there weren’t as many applicants for Spring and the cutoff looks closer to what it has in the past ??.

I heard that as well so I’m praying 72 is enough. I retook the TEAS before applying again and bombed the English portion somehow. I scored 18% lower on it than the first time I took it. Makes no sense since I was much more prepared for it this time around and scored in the 90s on all my practice tests. I know a 93.3 is good but I still beat myself up over that score since I did so bad on the last section. It is what it is though, so hopefully it’s good enough! You def got in though!! Heidi said she is sending an email out this week informing us when to expect the final results. I hope she shares the cutoff score like she did for Fall.

The same thing happened to my reading and English score the 2nd time I took the TEAS- they were both 5%-10% lower than my initial scores. A 93.3 is excellent though! Do you think she’ll share the cutoff score in this email being sent this week? Or next month?

Reading was the most difficult for me. I only got a 79 the first time and I studied that section A LOT before retaking the TEAS. I ended up getting almost a 94 on that section when I retook it. Also, there are multiple versions of the test so maybe one test is more difficult for someone than the other. I hope she informs us of the cutoff this week. The anticipation is driving me crazy.
