Rutgers Newark ABSN Spring 2022

Hi everyone! I thought it would be good to start a thread for people who are applying to the Rutgers Newark second degree BSN program for Spring 2022. I just started my application now.

Does anyone know where to submit the BLS certificate? The Rutgers second degree BSN website says that we need it before we apply, but there's no place to upload it on the application. Also for CLEP exam scores, do we need to include those anywhere in the application? I'll have my score sent to Rutgers, but not sure if we need to do anything for it in the actual application.

Does anyone have experience re-applying? I did not get in for Spring 2022, which I had a feeling was a long shot since I still had a class in progress. I would like to apply for Summer 2022 start, but it does not let me change existing application or start a new application in the Rutgers portal? I see there is a re-enrollment application but it says that is for previous Rutgers students, which I am not. Any insight??

Hi guys!! 
I’m a reenrolling applicant and haven’t heard anything. I’d say I’m feeling extremely anxious, but that would be an understatement LOL. I reached out to admissions and they said my application is being reviewed and I should hear back within the next few weeks.. uh, isn’t this concerning because we’re heading into December?! My application status doesn’t say anything, anyone else have this problem??

That’s so odd, I’m also a re-enrollment applicant and I found out in October. Do you have any outstanding prerequisites? Or any other outstanding documents?

SO weird! I have 2 non science courses in progress, but it says that I can still apply on their page. I sent everything including my BLS certificate and COVID-19 immunization card. Congratulations on your acceptance btw!! I’m so excited for you!

I don’t have any outstanding prerequisites or documents and I was told I would receive a decision in 2-3 weeks.

This is so stressful. I wonder what’s taking so long, maybe they’re overwhelmed by the amount of applicants? Wishing you the best of luck!

Yeah I did see that about being able to apply with non-science courses in progress. The only thing I can think of for why it’s taking long are those courses, I didn’t have any outstanding courses when I applied.

I think you need to wait for Feb 1 and submit a new application. I'm applying to Summer but they did the changes internally because the application was not review for Spring.

@fitnessandfeels I am so sorry to hear this!! Are you a re enrolling applicant?

@fitnessandfeels I’m sorry! ? I know it sucks, but don’t give up!! I know this process is extremely discouraging, but you will get in! Have you tried applying to NJCU? Their application is still open and it’s for fall 2022. You need 2 letters of recommendation and take a HESI exam - I’ve never heard of it but apparently it’s math and English. Hang in there!! You can also try applying on Feb 1 for the Summer session.

Has anyone who got accepted received any other information from Rutgers? I've put down my deposit but I haven't heard anything else.
