Rutgers Newark ABSN Spring 2022

Hi everyone! I thought it would be good to start a thread for people who are applying to the Rutgers Newark second degree BSN program for Spring 2022. I just started my application now.

Does anyone know where to submit the BLS certificate? The Rutgers second degree BSN website says that we need it before we apply, but there's no place to upload it on the application. Also for CLEP exam scores, do we need to include those anywhere in the application? I'll have my score sent to Rutgers, but not sure if we need to do anything for it in the actual application.

I didn't see an option to submit the personal statement or the BLS certification on the application, so I reached out to the school using the chat function on their website and the counselor gave me her email to submit them both. Then she reached out to me saying it was received.

@dmatterp Hey! I received a response letting me Know I’m missing all my prerequisite grades. I go back to my application and don’t see anywhere to do that. Do any of you know how I can do so? Did you hear back too?

I think I pieced together the whole Rutgers application debacle. Please correct me if I am wrong. If you are a current Rutgers student or have a Rutgers NetID your application is different and it has an area to upload additional documents including BLS and personal statement (can anyone confirm for future reference). I am not a current Rutgers student so as an outside student I got a community ID to apply and mine only had a spot to upload unofficial transcripts. Im not sure Rutgers realizes this cause they asked me if I uploaded the additional documents. BLS and personal statement had to be emailed to the snsadmission email you can find on the website, and even then, they don't always respond. They did respond to my BLS email and said document received and has been added to application. I did have success with a live chat this morning and they said I was missing a Stats grade that I previously sent them proof of enrollment to that same email, so it seems hit or miss with the email even though it is direct to the nursing program department. Not sure I have a chance since my STATS class is still in progress, has anyone heard of anyone being accepted with a class in progress? Anyway hope this helps main takeaway is to deal with the snsadmission email ?

Hi Everyone! 

I actually received the email regarding one or two missing documents, so I called this morning and was able to get in touch with a counselor that helped. I think the prereq grades did not show up in their system for some reason, so they have to manually check the transcripts and input the grades for each class manually. After that, I was told I was all set. Also, I was told that if you applied by the first deadline, you should still be hearing back within the 4-6week deadline they originally gave.

Hi Chelly! 

Yes! Check the application portal online, if everything is checked as completed, then call the number at the end of the email tomorrow during business hours and speak to a counselor. They will be able to assist you directly and input the grades through your transcripts.

Because of the website guidelines, I don't think I can post it here ? Did you receive the email about missing a document or two? I can explain to you where it is.

Yes, that's the number! I called earlier today and it connected me right to a counselor

Hey guys, so I got the email that I was missing the one or two items. I responded letting them know I am unsure what I’m missing and an admissions coordinator responded that my application is missing all prerequisite grades. All day I have been trying to figure out where to add the grades and the few times I called nobody answers. I applied last year and I don’t think they’re aware that the website looks completely different ?
