Rutgers Newark ABSN Spring 2022

Hi everyone! I thought it would be good to start a thread for people who are applying to the Rutgers Newark second degree BSN program for Spring 2022. I just started my application now.

Does anyone know where to submit the BLS certificate? The Rutgers second degree BSN website says that we need it before we apply, but there's no place to upload it on the application. Also for CLEP exam scores, do we need to include those anywhere in the application? I'll have my score sent to Rutgers, but not sure if we need to do anything for it in the actual application.

I just want to wish good luck to everyone waiting on a response! I received an email this morning that says if you applied by 10/1, you should start hearing back by the week of 11/8. This is my third time applying, so really hoping to get some good news this time. The first two times I was missing general Chemistry 2, soooo third times a charm! ????

Hi Chelly2628,  thanks for the reminder. I got that email too. Just wondering how you find out that you were missing Gen Chem 2 . Did they tell you that you were missing Gen Chem 2? I have a different Chem sequence and not sure if they will accept my Chem classes.

Hi! The first time I applied I was trying to take organic biochemistry, as you can do that or Chemistry 1 & 2. I was unable to find the class anywhere so just took general Chemistry 1. I was not accepted and never heard why, there were no details or anything. I applied the second time, but was trying to reach someone to make sure the class was okay, but never heard back from anyone. When I found out I was declined again I made an appointment with someone through Zoom, and they were very helpful and recommended I do an informational session and did say I needed Chemistry 2. I immediate took the class ? they also let me know there were changes in the new requirements such as intro to psychology and sociology. But this worked out great as it was my major.

Hi Guys; 

I also received the email yesterday about the decision to follow up within the next couple of weeks. I just checked the portal and my application is not under review. I found it kinda strange that they know I applied without reviewing the application if that makes any sense. LOL. Is anyone's application still not under review in the system but received the email about decisions coming out soon?

I'm planning on applying for the Summer 2022 start date. Where did you get your BLS certification? Did you take your pre-requisites at a local community college?

My application also hasn’t been updated to under review yet I received the same email. Weird but I guess it may change within the next few weeks?

Yes, local community college. BLS course through American heart association.

I received an email today from the admissions counselor letting me knows it’s a follow up email in regarding my missing Prerequisite transcripts due 11/1. Wow, they sure know how to stress Someone out because it’s the first time not a follow up and it’s on the new deadline date! Oh man ? I submitted everything in September… why?!?!

So admission has been extended again until December :/. I reached out because the portal is still without change for me and someone emailed me a few days later telling me I'm missing CHEM II. Mind you I submitted my application in early Sept and now is that they reply or checked my documentation. With better communication, I had time enough to take the class at my local community college but at this point is basically impossible. I don't know if anyone is also concerned with the lack of direct communication of the program. 

I also worry about all this extended application due date. Not enough quorum?

Hi, I definitely think that there is a lack of communication and disorganization. I highly recommend that you BOTH call and email them if you have any questions. I had to do that to confirm that they've received my Official transcripts. They still don't have my CLEP transcript at this point.

Thanks for your response! I emailed right back the admissions counselor who emailed me and left a few voicemails, hope I hear back soon. If not, I will stop by on Monday. I did see she is working remotely at this time. I’m sure someone can help in person ?
