Rutgers Newark ABSN Spring 2022

Hi everyone! I thought it would be good to start a thread for people who are applying to the Rutgers Newark second degree BSN program for Spring 2022. I just started my application now.

Does anyone know where to submit the BLS certificate? The Rutgers second degree BSN website says that we need it before we apply, but there's no place to upload it on the application. Also for CLEP exam scores, do we need to include those anywhere in the application? I'll have my score sent to Rutgers, but not sure if we need to do anything for it in the actual application.

Hi Everyone! 

I'm new to the chat and I am also waiting to hear back. I applied by the Oct. 1st deadline. But I also received the email regarding the second application extension for Dec. 1st! Do you think this will also push back the decisions? I'm so anxious.

Hiiii I received an email today saying my application is completed but for it to be reviewed I need to upload 1 or 2 items. They said to login and check the list of items to see what is missing. Can anyone tell me how to get to the checklist of items? Thanks!

Hi, I received the same email, too.  If you go to application portal and look to your right where it says application checklist, you will see the checklist of items.  I'm not sure what I'm missing because mine are all checked off. I just emailed back and hope to hear something back tomorrow.

Hey all, am I the only one who has already received their admissions decision? I am a Re-Enrolling applicant (I attended RU-NB for my first degree). What's with all the deadline extensions? Should I be concerned? ?

@dmatterp Hey! I’m also seeing everything checked off. I hope it’s something silly like the CPR card I took in person. I hope we hear back what it could be by tomorrow. @corinne_nicole4 congratulations on already hearing back! Can’t wait to get some good news too ? when did you get your response and was it by email?

Hi! Thank you ?  yes I was notified via email. Oddly enough, they didn't ask me for any kind of deposit, which I was sure they would since all the other schools I applied to required a security deposit. IDK if I should be concerned about that or... ? but I've also received emails about orientation and such so ?‍♀️

Yeah seems like they’re still working on this new extension. When did you get the email response?

I was notified of my acceptance back in October. I submitted everything all at once the day the application opened, 9/1 (I was really anxious to attend this specific program LOL). I also did not have any outstanding prerequisites.

@corinne_nicole4 Congratulations! Do you mind sharing your prerequisite grades? Also, did you submit a personal statement? I'm nervous about everything

@corinne_nicole4 So happy for you!! I am also a re enrollment student. I submitted my app the 2nd week of September but still no news. I am so anxious, I got all A’s besides stats and didn’t do well in the past with Chemistry

Does anyone have any idea why they extended the application deadlines? Are they not getting enough applicants? Also does anyone know how many applicants they accept? I heard they were accepting twice as many as previous years at Newark since they have stopped ABSN at New Brunswick

Thank you! My prereq GPA and science GPA were both 3.8. I did submit a personal statement, but I had to email it to one of the admissions counselors. Sending you good vibes ?
