Rutgers Newark ABSN Spring 2022

Published

Hi everyone! I thought it would be good to start a thread for people who are applying to the Rutgers Newark second degree BSN program for Spring 2022. I just started my application now.

Does anyone know where to submit the BLS certificate? The Rutgers second degree BSN website says that we need it before we apply, but there's no place to upload it on the application. Also for CLEP exam scores, do we need to include those anywhere in the application? I'll have my score sent to Rutgers, but not sure if we need to do anything for it in the actual application.

Hi everyone! I'm going to apply for the Summer 2022 program and I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what the additional costs of the program are? Also, do they allow ABSN students to apply for financial aid or is it government loans? Thank you!

@corinne_nicole4 @cphilly @weeg congratulations on your acceptance! I was notified that I got accepted yesterday, did you receive an additional email about a security deposit? I don’t see that I owe anything on my end (I’m assuming it’s because I just accepted their offer). I only received a link instructing me to the next steps (orientation, background checks, etc). See you in January or at the virtual orientation! ?

So I was wondering the same thing because every other school I applied to required a deposit. I went to the website and used the chat box to ask a rep if I owed a deposit. They asked if I was a re-enrollment applicant, I said yes, and they said no deposit was required. So I guess they waive the deposit for re-enrolled students?

Congratulations everyone whose been accepted! ❤️ and thanks for the info on GPA and grades, really helpful! Do you mind saying when you put in your application and when you heard back? And also how you were notified? Did you just check the portal or did you receive a separate email?

I submitted all my documents the day the application opened, Sept 1. I heard back on October 14 I believe. They notified me via email!

Hey! I’m a reenrolling applicant so my experience may be different from others. There was no application fee, but so far you have to pay out of pocket for a criminal background check, drug test, scrubs, and stethoscope if you don’t have one — also books but I’m not far enough into the program to tell you how much they cost. They do allow ABSN to apply for financial aid and encourage students to do so ? any remaining balance you can apply for personal loans

Hmm, interesting ?? thank you for answering my question! ?

Hi Everyone! I just found out this morning that I got in and I put down my depost, but I haven't gotten any other information. For anyone planning on attending where are you going to be living for the program? That is something I am trying to figure out right now, because I found out today this doesn't give me much time. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

Me and my SO looked in suburbs around Newark like Cranford, Union, Maywood, and Springfield. We settled on a place in Springfield! We also tried looking in Newark itself but didn’t find anything we liked/felt safe LOL

I’ve heard living in Newark isn’t the best idea. Thank you!! Do you know if there are any facebook groups started for this cohort? I see there are some for other years.

I just tried searching and didn't find one, hopefully someone starts one soon!

Has anyone received follow up info about next steps? I got my acceptance about 10 days ago but still haven’t heard anything.

I got my acceptance last week and I still haven't recieved anything either. I messaged the live chat on the website and they said you should get a follow up email in a few weeks. I'm hoping we get more information this week though.

Hi everyone! For those who have been accepted has anyone gotten information about the date of orientation and our class schedules? Thanks! :)

I received an onboarding email that included a link to sign up for virtual orientation, so you should be getting that soon. In that same email, they said that class schedules hadn't been finalized yet, so we should wait for another email that will allow us to register for classes at a later time.
