Hi,
I was wondering if anyone that was accepted or is currently attending Rutgers' Accelerated BSN program had to challenge any courses before starting the program? I have to take exams for the following courses - human interactive process and cultural dimensions of humans and their environment. I was wondering if anyone out there could say if they had to take these exams and if so, are they really difficult or do-able provided one puts in a solid couple weeks of studying...
If anyone could help me with this, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm not looking for specifics on the exams themselves, just trying to gauge if I have enough time to study at this point - I have unitl the middle of may to take the tests.
Many thanks in advance for any help!
Thanks for getting back to me on when you got your acceptance letters.
I was also wondering if any of you had experience with using Federal loans for the Rutgers ABSN program. Reason I'm asking is that I remember Federal loans being dispersed once for Fall semester and again for the Spring semester for a given school year. Since the ABSN program starts in the summer how would you get a Federal loan to be applied to the first session (summer) of the program?
Not sure if this situation applied to any of you but if you have any insight it would be very greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi. I hope some of you current students or grads from the program might see this. I was planning to enter the Accelerated BSN program that starts next month, but I'm getting frustrated with the lack of information about when classes start, when orientation is, etc. I've called, but on the occasions when people actually answer the phone, no one can give me concrete information. They say they'll be mailing out the information soon, but the other two programs I've gotten into (Rutgers is my first choice) have sent me this information several weeks ago.
So, I'm wondering how your experiences with the program have been. How are classes and clinicals? What do you think of the professors? Hopefully they are more accessible than the administration has been so far. I'll really appreciate any information you can provide. Thanks in advance!
If anyone is interested, I have the syllabi to: Nutrition, Cultural Dimensions, and Trends in Health Care Delivery; just send me a message and I can email them to you to get an idea of what the class is like/what would be tested on the challenge exam. Not sure how to post them here.
I know this post was made a long time ago but I just applied to Rutgers and am probably going to have to test out of Cultural Dimensions and Trends in Health Care Delivery could you hook me up with the syllabi?
HEY! im a psychology major at Rutgers Newark right now and i want to get into the accelerated program after i graduate in 2013. I was wondering if i have to take the pre -req classes in Rutgers...or can i take it at a community college? because unfortunately A&P I II are only opened to the nursing school and im not in the school
Does any one know? or where have u taken ur pre-reqs?
I'm fairly certain you can take them at a community college. At least one person I went to school with did that. But if you have questions about what will transfer, why not give the school of nursing a call to be sure. This way you won't waste your money.
Rutgers website also has this: http://admissions.rutgers.edu/applynow/morefortransferapplicants/njcommunitycollegestudents.aspx
This will link you to NJ transfer so you can see if CC courses will transfer.
Good luck!

I think I received mine the middle of February. Make sure you call the admissions office and check on whether or not your application is complete (i.e. transcripts were all sent in from any other schools you attended for prereqs and your first bachelor's degree). I think you may be able to do this online as well. If you see that you have any open items make sure you call the admission office pronto.
I think I callled around the middle of January to make sure that the admissions office received all my transcripts and one was missing. Luckily I discovered this fairly early in the process and was able to get my other school to send another transcript.
