Rutgers Accelerated Nursing- Fall 2015 (Newark)

Wow, seems like no one is applying here or maybe we just have a lot of readers. In any case i hope to apply for the accelerated nursing program for Fall 2015. originally, it was to be Spring 2016 because i haven't finished prereqs but I'm hoping to be done next spring (of 2015) and hoping they extend the deadline. Anyone else?!!

I got this email response this morning after I asked if the decisions will be sent out this week:

"Applications are currently under review. As soon as the committee reviews all applications, decisions will be communicated and letters will be sent out."

Unfortunately, at this point I'm just going to have to go ahead and plan on going to the other school.

For those of you who are going to another school because rutgers is taking long to decide, are you guys contacting Rutgers and letting them know that you are withdrawing your application ?

@jsc208 I won't officially withdrawal my application until everything is set for the other program. Hopefully I will hear back from Rutgers before then, but I will be looking for and hopefully getting an apartment near the other school in just a few weeks.

For those of you who are going to another school because rutgers is taking long to decide, are you guys contacting Rutgers and letting them know that you are withdrawing your application ?

I'm just proceeding with the other school, at this point that is the option i have chosen. Its the only one i have now, who knows if i will even get into Rutgers so i have to think like that. If Rutgers eventually mails decisions out, hopefully i can still withdraw but it's getting more difficult to do so as time goes on.

It's a shame I wonder if they realize waiting this long means they're losing more strong applicants than gaining.

I called again at 9am today (I was trying to hold of until 3pm or tomorrow) and they told me that decisions aren't made yet, they said the end of the month ( I mean come on that's tomorrow!! Can't say that forever and can't they meet deadlines? We sure had to) or sometime this week. Also she told me they will

send it by snail mail no emails as previously mentioned. I asked if there was a faster way, like dropping by when decisions are made and she said no. Which I don't get because let's just say you didn't know if you got in but went there and said you did and wanted to pay the deposit, I'm sure they would look up your file and see if you did or didn't but i guess the can't be bothered with that or giving responses over the phone/email.

Mid-July is way too late for a program that starts in August/September.

And the worst part is they will only notify you of a decision by snail mail and with the holiday coming who knows when we will get it. As of this morning, applicants are still under review. They kept saying the end of the month when I called yesterday as if it were a month away! I get the admissions office is not in control of the reviews but the way they notify us sucks.
