Hey everyone,
I just attended the Rutgers ABSN information session this past Monday. It seems there were a couple of people applying for this upcoming fall (2016), including myself, and it was suggested that we connect! I'm applying to both campuses but hope to get into Newark at the very least since its a closer commute for me. I'm just starting the NursingCas application.
Who else is applying for this upcoming fall?
Tell us what you think of Rutgers University.
Hopefully someone can help me here! I am looking to apply to Rutgers Spring 2017 ASBN, I still need Chem 2 and Developmental Psych. I have called a couple times and spoke to someone named Barbara. She informed me that they aren't accepting anyone in the Spring semester who doesn't have all their science prerequisites finished. Does anyone know any school that hasn't started their last summer semester that I might be able to do and finish before September 1st. Thanks guys!
Rutgers accepts the CLEP Human Growth & Development for the developmental psychology prerequisite. (that was last I checked, maybe call to confirm.)
West Texas A&M university should have self paced online Chem 2. I believe other colleges do offer it as well but r quite pricey ( University of phoneix, UNM, BYU etc)
Gluck!!
Hey everyone! I'm so glad I found this forum. I have also just been accepted to Rutgers for the fall semester in New Brunswick. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you! I thought I should offer some information that may help - for those who are on the wait list like I was, when I spoke to someone at the admissions office, they told me that people on the wait list can be informed of an acceptance at any time. In other words, I think she meant that even after the 15th, if something comes up with a person who may have already said yes to Rutgers, that spot would be given to a person on the wait list. I'm not sure if I misunderstood her, but that's what I got from my conversation with her.
I was also wondering if the New Brunswick campus has a Facebook group like Newark does. If anyone knows about it please let me know!
@Megyuppa I'm not 100% sure, but there may be some community colleges that still have open summer sessions. I believe Middlesex County College has a four week summer session that started on the 11th. Even though its past the beginning they may let you register late if you can convince them that you'll keep up with the work. I wouldn't recommend doing this for Chem 2, but I actually did this during the past spring semester with developmental psychology and they did not have a problem with me registering for the class a week late as long as the professor gave me permission. I also took the class online so it was easy to catch up with the work that I had missed the previous week.
