Hey everyone,
I just attended the Rutgers ABSN information session this past Monday. It seems there were a couple of people applying for this upcoming fall (2016), including myself, and it was suggested that we connect! I'm applying to both campuses but hope to get into Newark at the very least since its a closer commute for me. I'm just starting the NursingCas application.
Who else is applying for this upcoming fall?
Tell us what you think of Rutgers University.
Here's a link to the group. Let me know if it works! =)
Hello
I just got my acceptance letter in the mail but I still have to complete chem II!!!! I am a nursing student at BCC in Paramus and just completed my first semester. I had no time between fundamentals and pharmacology to take the Chem class and i was kind of waiting if i get in or not. Now i have 5 weeks to take that class. Anyone can help me to figure it out where Can i register quickly to start the class asap! I have everything else completed! Congrats to all accepted !!!
@monizka- First off congrats on your acceptance!
Ocean county college has chem ll that began last week that I believe you can still sign up for until tomorrow (You can usually get any prereqs to the course waived if your a visiting student). They offer both online and in class- only issue regarding online course is that you need to order lab kit and that takes awhile to get delivered.
Brookdale community college offer Chem 136 ( Intro to organic, inorganic and biochem) that is accepted by Rutgers. They also have an online and in class option but the online professor did not have the best reviews on ratemyproffesor.com.
Congrats & Good luck :)
So now that I read this thread completely, I can answer a few questions some had regarding contact methods Rutgers uses for decisions. My application deadline was originally September 1, 2015. They then extended it to October 1, 2015. We were told we'd be notified with a decision about 4-6 weeks later. Decisions didn't really get to us until 7+ weeks later. The accepted students were notified by mail with some sort of an acceptance packet, and the students that were waitlisted got notified after the allowed time the accepted students had to pay their deposit was up (around the 1st or 2nd week of December). I was one of the waitlisted --and boy, was I relentless with the phone calls! I called the day of and the day after Deposit Day for the accepted students and they told me decisions would be sent out for waitlisters by Wednesday or Thursday. I hadn't gotten anything by Thursday, so moping around, I decided to get back to work and stop harassing them lol. Out of habit, I continued refreshing my email, and lo and behold, in my spam folder, was my acceptance email. :) Don't give up!!!!!!
I just called and it's basically what dantin28 said. Students have until next week to accept their spot and the spot they give up we get but we won't know for another 2 weeks. There's a list that they go through, but she wouldn't tell me where I fall on the list. So more waiting!!! [emoji36][emoji36][emoji36][emoji36] but I guess it's better than waiting a month or more....but STILL.
Hey! Is anyone else still deciding between campuses? Any pros and cons to either, other than location. I hear the program is ultimately the same at both campuses, but let me know your input!
When I was at the orientation they told that Newark campus (and cohort) is bigger, Newark has new updated simulation labs, everybody wants to get to Newark campus
@monizka I know that Summer Session 2 for Union County College-Cranford campus starts tomorrow. I just checked and all the sections for chem 2 is closed. I know that it is possible to go to the campus and have the director of the department sign some paper work so that you can get into an already closed class. You would just have to act quick and do some searching/ asking around once you get there.
