mct913: Regarding the schedule, I will copy and paste what I posted in the Newark cohort's facebook group: So level 1 looked like this: Monday: Off. Tuesday: Pathophysiology 8-11 (then we'd have an hour off which we usually used for our lunch) Foundations of Nursing 12-2 Nursing Informatics 2:30-5 (which was mostly online. Just the first and last classes were in person) Wednesday: Culture, Lifestyle, and Health 8-11 (then another hour break aka lunch) Health Assessment 12-2 Clinical 4:30-10:30 (for the first 7 weeks you'll be having clinical in the sim lab where you'll learn your basic nursing skills that are necessary to go to hospital clinicals. You'll be tested on these skills after the 7th week by your instructor and if you pass, you're allowed to go to hospital clinical for the remainder of the semester.) Thursday: Off Friday: Health Assessment Lab 12-2 *Note: My class was divided into about 8 or 9 groups of 8 people in each for clinical which was the same group I had Health Assessment lab with. The times for HA lab and clinicals varied -- the times above was my personal schedule --but some others had clinical on Saturday, Monday, and Thursday nights (i guess they just tried to have clinicals whenever we weren't in class). Hospital locations also varied. I was placed on the telemetry/oncology/dialysis floor of Raritan Bay-Old Bridge Hospital. HA lab was where we physically learned how to conduct a full head to toe assessment on a patient and that takes place in the HA lab in school. Hope this helps!!

So now that I read this thread completely, I can answer a few questions some had regarding contact methods Rutgers uses for decisions. My application deadline was originally September 1, 2015. They then extended it to October 1, 2015. We were told we'd be notified with a decision about 4-6 weeks later. Decisions didn't really get to us until 7+ weeks later. The accepted students were notified by mail with some sort of an acceptance packet, and the students that were waitlisted got notified after the allowed time the accepted students had to pay their deposit was up (around the 1st or 2nd week of December). I was one of the waitlisted --and boy, was I relentless with the phone calls! I called the day of and the day after Deposit Day for the accepted students and they told me decisions would be sent out for waitlisters by Wednesday or Thursday. I hadn't gotten anything by Thursday, so moping around, I decided to get back to work and stop harassing them lol. Out of habit, I continued refreshing my email, and lo and behold, in my spam folder, was my acceptance email. :) Don't give up!!!!!!

Hi Everyone! Congratulations to those who were accepted to RUNewark! To be accepted is no easy feat, you should be extremely proud of yourselves. I just finished my first semester in the program. What a journey!!!! I did pretty well in 4/5 of my classes but was unable to conquer 1 of them, therefore I will be placed in your cohort. I'm so excited to meet all of you! If you have any questions about the orientation process, classes, etc, please feel free to email me! My email is [email protected]. Organizing is a pretty big hobby of mine, so if no one else has done so thus far, I'd love to organize our class in a Facebook group for now. Once our cohort gets settled and we actually meet in person, I will create a sign up sheet where everyone can put their email addresses and I will then be able to create a Slack group. Slack is a fantastic Desktop and Mobile app program that's kind of like a huge group chat -- only better. I managed my old cohort's Slack group and it was such a great help. I'll go into more detail about Slack later, but for now, we can convene our conversations in our new group. Search for "Rutgers ABSN Fll 2016 Newark Campus" in the Facebook search bar. I will accept your request. And the countdown to September begins!!!!

To all the waitlisters -- have any of you reached out to Admissions to check their status and maybe get a more updated answer on when the accepted students' deadline is for letting the school know if they are definitely choosing Rutgers as well as tuition payment arrangements?

Lizzie, I definitely hope so. Come to think of it, she did sound a little bothered about me asking about my wait list status -- she cut me off when I was going to ask if they would email or mail us a letter that we were chosen off the wait list by wrongly assuming I was going to ask what my place or "rank" was on the list. But I hope you're right bb18!

Lizzie, yes I remember your post! I'm just reporting what rutgers told me -- she definitely said December but I like your claim a lot more hahahaha! I hope that ends up happening!!!!!

Lacerti, I intend on applying for the summer part time program, too! As well as Fall 2016. -- Whatever it takes. Every applicant pool is different therefore we may have a better shot next time!

Reminder: I have been waitlisted. I called early today in the afternoon and basically asked "Every school is different -- how does Rutgers handle the waitlisters?" The rep told me if someone doesn't "accept" their acceptance in a few weeks, the wait list will open. They cannot tell us where we are on the wait list, but she did tell me that she believes that if we ARE offered a spot in the program as a result of someone giving up theirs, we will be notified via email and mail. She said that these decisions will be sent around the end of December as to give the accepted students a chance to make a decision and/or get their requirements done (medical clearances, tuition payments, I'm assuming, etc...) So there is still a chance!
