Rutgers Accelerated BSN - Spring 2016

I called NursingCAS once again to check on my status just now. The representative told me that although the admissions committee has access to see all of my materials on the application, I am still in the verification process (something I already knew). He then said my application was deemed "fully complete" since October 12 (which sounds about right since I had to resend them my transcripts), and that I should expect to see "Complete" on my NursingCAS status between date range November 9-12. I guess I won't be finding out if I got in until late november. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I asked if there was anything I could do to speed up the process and he said no, that it takes about 3-4 weeks for verification to be complete after your application has been submitted with all necessary info and documents. So I think it'd be a good idea for those of you who did not need to resend transcripts to call NursingCAS Customer Service and perhaps ask the date range for when you should see your status change from verifying to complete! :) Keep us informed here on the thread.

Got my notifications that NursingCAS has received my 2 missing transcripts!!!!!!!!! I am now in the third "flag" which says verifying..... is this the final step before the decision? Or does it have to say complete?

Hi arenna534! You can check your status via NursingCAS. Have you looked there first? If you feel better speaking to a human (lol), you can call the school's admissions dept directly and they should be able to tell. You can also call NursingCAS' Customer Service number: 617-612-2880

Rutgers Accelerated BSN - Spring 2016

Hi bb18! Welcome to the thread. Okay everyone, in regards to my issue with NursingCAS receiving my transcripts: NursingCAS claimed they only received 1 transcripts out of the 3 schools I've attended and my application has not been checked off as completed yet.... I ran to the schools that they said they did not receive yet last Friday and purchased a second copy for both and had them sent out that same day. I called NursingCAS again to explain to them that I already sent the transcripts but they should be receiving a 2nd copy of both soon. The representative told me that once they receive the transcripts, there's no way to track when they get to their office until they are scanned. Once scanned, they take 7-10 business days to process before it gets uploaded to your application. Ugh! So I decided to give Rutgers a ring. I asked the admissions rep when the committee was convening and asked if I still had a chance seeing as to this issue was out of my control. He said the committee began at least reviewing the applications, and has access to see them even if we don't see "completed" on our end, so he basically was trying reassure me that even if my transcripts weren't checked off as completed, they could see that I had everything else. He then told me that the reviewing process is at the very least 2-3 weeks long, and that if I could try my best to get the necessary materials by then, they could push my application further along into the completed applicant pool. These transcripts better make it! On a more personal note (one that could possibly help others), I am currently taking my last two pre-requisites (Bio organic chem and Microbio). Although I showed that I am taking these classes at the moment on my NursingCAS application, the admissions rep advised me to submit some kind of proof of my current enrollment in these classes so that they don't just "write my application off". He gave me the email address of the admissions department and said that "a simple screenshot of your internet browser with your class schedule pulled up showing it is for Fall 2015 semester" should suffice. Having a mental breakdown....LOL! Sending you peace, soothing cups of tea, and virtual hugs to all of you during this anxiety-ridden time!

I'm going through your same situation. Hopefully this doesn't reflect negatively on our potential to get in. This whole process is so frustrating.... keep us posted on your status !

I just finished sending my SECOND copy of both "missing" transcripts. Going to call them now. I did everything "by the book" and finished my application in August. The address I am having them mailed to is: NursingCAS P.O. Box 9201 Watertown, MA 02471 ...correct? This is on the admissions page on the Rutgers website. I hate that everything is so disorganized. The trials and tribulations of a nurse start even before she's a nurse, huh? Will keep you posted on what they say. Also, if your transcripts change to "verified" status, please let me know!

Lacerti, Thanks for the insight from the nursing recruiter. Is the recruiter still (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME)? I'd like to reach out to her personally and she's the only contact I have as recruiter for Newark Campus. I made quite the discovery thanks to your post. I looked more into my application status than I thought I could and stumbled on an icon I could click on that didn't seem like a link. A pop up told me that they have not yet RECEIVED let alone VERIFIED 2 out of 3 of my school transcripts. I really hope there is some misunderstanding or lack of due diligence on someone's behalf because I sent those transcripts in mid-August. I sent them an email saying just that and that I would like to be notified of my status once someone looks into it. I intend on calling first thing in the morning and just to be safe since you said the committee has yet to decide on a date to convene, I will, AGAIN, buy my official transcripts and have them sent over to NursingCAS. This whole thing is absurd and pulling on my heart strings/sanity. As far as my Plan B, I also hope to get accepted to Bergen Community College's associate program for Spring 2016. I also intend to keep applying to Rutgers every semester as it is my dream school. That includes their part time program (30 months long, summer start only). And NJCU ABSN program for Fall 2016. I wish Montclair had an accelerated program! Its locale and easiness to transfer transcripts would be my saving grace since it is my alma mater. I don't know if I could go all the way to my Master's just yet! I'd like to get myself out in the field first.

Hi lte16! Thanks for giving us your wonderful feedback. It's very much appreciated. Can you give us what classes you are taking this semester, as in, their names? Which is your favorite/least favorite, why? And as far as clinicals, when is your first week doing them? What are the coveted locations? I'm from Passaic County too and would hope I get a close enough location. I am worried about the out of pocket expenses. Please tell me anything you can about uniforms/scrubs, stethoscopes, and all others. Those are all the questions I have right now, but I'm sure I'll have plenty more! =) lol

Lizzie and Mimi, for some reason I have the number 30 in my mind. Don't quote me on this, but I think I remember Nikia Bomar-Dalce, Rutgers Newark Nursing Recruiter, telling me that's how many people get accepted.

Lacerti, WOW thank you so much for knowing every answer to my questions! You are so helpful and I feel a lot more at ease. Sounds like you had one heck of a summer -- and here I am, still complaining about my Summer 1 A&P2 6 week class that ended on July 1 because I am still scarred. Lol! It's obvious you are capable of doing great things to be pulling As. I'm a little worried because I got a C in Stats but everything else is a B and higher. But I'm hoping they don't weigh that against me TOO much.... I swear there's more to me than knowing standard deviations!! Haha. Has anyone heard any good or bad things about the program? I'm curious to know what clinical locations have been offered in the past.

Rutgers Accelerated BSN - Spring 2016

Hello! I am applying to Newark for the Spring Semester also. I have yet to submit my personal statement, resume, and finalizing my transcripts. I have two questions about the process: 1.) Where do you submit the essay and resume? Is there a section for it on my NursingCAS or is there a specific email/mail address? 2.) I will be taking the chemistry and microbiology prerequisites this fall in two different community colleges. I do know we are allowed up to 3 in progress courses as per Rutgers Nursing Recruiter Nikia Bomar-Dolce, but does anyone know if I will need to submit the transcripts from those two community colleges in my application beforehand so that they see I am enrolled and in fact "in progress"? Thanks in advance!! :) I hope I get in!!!! I need a miracle! Lol how is everyone else's experience going with the application process? The resume, personal essay, how you feel about getting in, your experiences with Rutgers administration via phone calls and/or emails for whatever reason, etc....Wishing everyone the best of luck!
