Hi everyone, just want to ask if anybody has heard about any result from RPN bridging programs for Mcmaster or Conestoga?

If I didn't make the cut, will they give an email or mail about it?

I’d say go for bridging! Then you’ll have a lot more opportunities in the future, but that’s just my thoughts on it! I’ll be doing nursing home care while in the program, since it’s so flexible

can I ask what makes this program flexible? GBC’s first semester is online so that’s big. I can’t find much information on Mohawk!

My bad! I meant home care is a flexible job while in school. I just finished the PN program at MoMac and in my opinion it’s not flexible at all, usually 3 days on campus and then 1 clinical day! Strict deadlines, etc.

Haha fair enough! Yeah if I stick with GBC, I'll try to keep the paeds nursing job. ?

So here's the main point of comparison for me. To my understanding, Mohawk asks you to maintain a 60% average in everything and there's no reapplication process for Mac. For GBC, you need to maintain 75% and there is an application process for the university portion. Would anyone know why that is? Is Mohawk more challenging? o.0 Because my jobs, friends, amazing apartment etc are in Toronto where GBC is. But that's a HUGE ease of pressure, the way Mohawk has set it up.

Mac is 65% to pass I believe if I remember correctly and no you don’t have to reapply, it’s just one program which makes the most sense.

Anyone here who’s going to apply for OSAP? I feel like unsure with everything right now as a broke-*** new grad RPN, still strugggling with new job and now back to school with more struggles to come.

Ah thank you for clarifying this! Still, 65% seems very reasonable.

It was reasonable I found. Tons of people still don't make it to the end, but that is usually a reflection of habits rather than actual intelligence.

Oh dear. I remember about 120 started PN and like 40 graduated from GBC. What's it like for Mo-Mac?

I think the bridging students started out around 60 at that time and we definitely lost probably 15 that I can think of. Some failed, some decided they didn’t like Mac so chose to pursue other options.
