Hi everyone!
The Spring 2020 application period has just opened up! I just wanted to start a new thread for those who are rolling over from the last application period (Fall/Oct 2019) as well as to those who are applying for the first time to share our questions and/or concerns.
Feel free to ask, comment or discuss anything about the admissions process, interviews, and the program itself.
Do let us know whether you're a rollover applicant or first time applicant, too. Good luck everyone!

For your interview, what was the essay question? Also, did they ask you any tough questions - like “tell us about a time when you had to use leadership skills or problem skills,” etc? Or was it all conversational?
Thank you!
Hey Brae30!
I believe there are several questions that the faculty can ask for the essay portion. If i remember correctly, my question was about the characteristics of nursing. And yes, they do ask questions like those. I know the interview is something to be very nervous about, but the faculty just wants to know you and how you would be able to handle different situations. You'll be okay! ?

You're so kind for offering your help! How has the program been? Is it manageable? How is it passing with a 90%? I look forward to hearing back from you.
Hey Mlaybourn! ?
The program is amazing! Majority of the faculty are there to help you and I believe it is manageable. There are blocks that can be very difficult and will require a lot of work, which can make the 90% difficult to obtain! BUT with determination and discipline, things will be okay!!

Mlay,
I'm also a current ABSN student in SJ and don't worry about the 90%, the tests for the most part are very straight forward. There are two ways post individual test to earn a few points back in case you're just shy. Program as a whole is completely manageable if you get it done right. If you feel you want/need to work, try and get a campus job first, and if you feel you can do more maybe switch to a job somewhere nearby? I'd also strongly advise you bring a car!

@ChaoRN Thank you for the information. The program sounds amazing so hopefully I get in. ??

My application was submitted September 9th-ish, and am hoping to get an interview for October. It seems that the interview invitation emails go out pretty late, any idea on how much notice they give us for the interview?
Thank you!
My counselor told me invitations usually go out about 2 weeks prior to the actual interview date. So if you make the cut for the October date then you should be notified towards the end of September/very early October.

The last day to apply is October 5th. So I’m assuming after that date.

I was told 10-14 days before interview date
next interview is October 16th in Henderson
Hi,
I have applied to the absn program for spring 2020. I found out today that one of my transcript was sent to the wrong address... hence I had to resent it (which will prob take a few more weeks to process). My counselor told me that interview invites will be notified the last day of September.
So I guess my question is.... do I still have a chance at an interview invite if my caspa isn’t even verified? Just my luck :’( Thanks!

@Elly KD My stuff isn’t submitted yet either. My councilor said I have until October 5th. I’m waiting to submit everything because I’m taking my Tease exam again next weekend. So if you get it there and verified by a week I think you might be okay?
