Roseman University Spring/Feb 2020

Published

Hi everyone!

The Spring 2020 application period has just opened up! I just wanted to start a new thread for those who are rolling over from the last application period (Fall/Oct 2019) as well as to those who are applying for the first time to share our questions and/or concerns.

Feel free to ask, comment or discuss anything about the admissions process, interviews, and the program itself.

Do let us know whether you're a rollover applicant or first time applicant, too. Good luck everyone!

Are you in Nevada or Utah? @Brae30

Hello everyone!

I just graduated with the BSN 2020 cohort! ?

I wanted to pop in and ask if anyone of you are looking for books / lab scrubs / clinical scrubs?? I have the whole set of everything and price is negotiable because I’m moving next week Friday (14)! So I’m trying to get rid of things ASAP! If you know anyone, please lmk!!

-Cindy ?

Hi Cindy,

Congratulations on finishing your BSN! I have been looking for feedback on the BSN program, but I am only finding information on the ABSN program. Did you choose the BSN program over the ABSN program? If so, why?

Just read through the thread thanks for all the info! Two questions for current students:

1. Why does Roseman require the Dell laptop fee are there some programs on there they want all students to have or something? And to clarify you cannot "opt out" of this if you have your own?

2. Realistically how often per week or per month are you required to be on campus? (I am in-between whether or not the hybrid aspect is doable since I live in Cali, or is it truly necessary to rent an apt/room rather than driving/flights/hotels to commute for labs/classes/tests)

Hi I am a current student but I just wanted to say that they just provide you with a brandnew dell laptop. Ours is touch screen. It is also preloaded with windows office, exam taking software etc. I think they do that just to limit people from running into problems where they cannot do something because they can't afford the software etc. Overall I don't mind the computer it pretty easy to function and when things have gone wrong they have IT on campus which can fix software and hardware.

For the sake of moving I'd say just move here. You may have to spend solid chunks of time during clinicals and sometimes leading up to clinicals you have in person labs, lab pass offs and didactic exams which can probably account for at least 2-2.5 and sometimes 3 months of on the ground time in one go. However, you will have times where you can travel back home. There was pretty much a solid period where we had a "Summer break" surrounded by complete online classes with no exams so most people travel back home. I will say though that they can drop the bomb and say things like you have 2 days before a orientation for something so you need to scramble back from wherever you are. Also if you miss things like orientations, labs they will not hesitate to remediate you. All labs pass offs, demonstrations, open labs, exams and clinicals are done in person on campus (with the exceptions for right now).

Again for the ABSN program you still are more so on campus than you are off but most of the experiences are done online.

Thank you!

and No, I was going for BSN. The difference is that BSN is in class teaching, which I think is a lot more helpful. ABSN is online and you basically teach yourself in a way. I prefer that interaction with my professors in class to get a better understanding of the material ?

Hi everyone!

I am currently a Roseman student at the Henderson campus! I used to read these posts all the time regarding the interview process and what not! LOL

If you guys have any questions, I'll try my best to answer!

And also, if you guys are interested in getting all the books required, I have all of them in very well condition! They helped me a lot and trust me, you'll spend A LOT of your time reading. ??

But I wish you guys best of luck in this process & let me know if there's any questions!

Hello Cindy, is it possible if you can post your 15 block schedule, I want to get an idea of the labs and clinical rotation. Here’s my email [email protected] if you don’t feel comfortable posting it here

Hi everyone,

I just got accepted into Roseman's 2020 Fall Cohort. Would you guys mind answering a couple of questions about it? 1) Do I need to apply for another license if I want to work in Utah, because I think I heard from a coordinator that we don't have to and we could directly work there compared to others states where we have to get licensed? Also how is the program? Do you get time to study at home since we are at school from 8am-3pm/5pm? Is this program accredited like other colleges in Nevada?

Hi guys! I’m an incoming ABSN student starting this October in the Utah campus. I just wanted to know if any of you are selling your used books as a bundle for Block 1-6? Just trying to save money out here ?  please feel free to email me at [email protected]

Hello! I’m currently in Roseman entering block 5! I’m really anxious and overwhelmed so I figured I reach out to past cohorts for advice, study tips, how to handle this class as a whole. If anyone can be of any help, that’ll be great. Thank you!
