Roseman University ABSN Spring 2018

Published

Hey, has anyone applied to or started the process with Roseman University for the Spring 2018 cohort? I know that the application opens next Friday, but I just wanted to see who all is planning on applying. Has anyone gotten an invitation for an interview yet? I will be applying to the Las Vegas campus. Also, what are your TEAS score, last 60-unit GPA, and prerequisite GPA?

Is there anyone here who currently attends Roseman and can tell me how it is?

I got a 94.7. I'm just bummed I didn't get my app in earlier bc I'm hoping there will still be open seats for Henderson

Omg that makes me worry too :( But yeah, I know that the people who got the September interview were told by Sept. 7th. I got nervous about the 54 interviewees in Henderson too. That's why I chose to apply to Utah instead since there were only 15 interviewees.

Sorry I'm late to this thread. I also attended the Sept 13 Interview in Henderson.

I am aware of the fact that people got offered spots for the February 2018 Cohort in Henderson before the September 13 interview, which means that there are less than 48-64 spots available. (I was told that the seats had to be divisible by 8 due to clinical grouping and they would have at least a minimum of 48).

So I talked to my Adviser Emily last Friday Sept 15 to possibly changing my application to the Utah February 2018 Cohort. It is possible since supposedly they just have to click a few buttons so I don't have to reapply and I believe my chances would be higher in Utah than Nevada according to my numbers.

Currently, I will wait for the decision to be made sometime this week and see if I can switch my choice of campuses. Best case would be to get into February Cohort in Nevada but Utah is just as good if admitted for the February 2018 Cohort since I have to move out of state regardless.

Wow I can't believe some people got accepted before the interview. Doesn't seem fair. What is the maximum amount of people that they can accept into the program?

Also, do you know how many people were at the Utah interview?

Re: accepted early, they were people from the Oct 17 cohort who were told they could do Feb 18 because Oct was full.

Re: Utah having 15, they gave numbers during the pre-interview conference call. I think I also mentioned 15 people there earlier in this thread.

@JennaAnn23 People from the other thread regarding the October 2017 Cohort mentioned that they accepted a spot in the February 2018 Cohort since they didn't get offered a seat for Oct. Kinda makes sense since it is rolling admissions which probably means that they accept people and offer them a seat in the next available spot.

Like I mentioned, I was told 48 minimum and 64 max because the clinical groups are divided by 8.

According to that conference call prior to our Sept 13 Interview, they told us that 54 will be interviewed in Henderson and 15 will be attending the Utah campus.

Ooh okay that makes sense. Now we have to see if people from Vegas take the offer to go to Utah. I'm nervous now because I wont be able to interview until November and who knows how many seats will be available in Utah.

There's a few that accepted the defer option. Safe to assume that there are already students assigned for Feb 18 in Nevada so less spots are available.

Personally, I would. I would have to move from my home state and come back regardless. I just want to start in Feb 18 if possible.

Yeah I think the October people have all already made their decisions to go to Utah, do Feb in Nevada, or waitlist for October Nevada. We can def assume that there are already filled seats for Feb Nevada.

The Utah cohorts are usually (always?) smaller than Nevada, but it'll be interesting to see how what the overall numbers are.

Hi @paisling ! I'm trying to apply for the Spring '18 cohort at SJ as well! Did you have to submit a writing sample when you were there for the interview?

Hi! :) The writing sample is really easy. We were all in a classroom and were given a packet of info (costs, schedule, etc) and one of the papers is the writing prompt.

After a presentation they had everyone take out the prompt paper and gave us 15 min (i think?) to respond. It's really just to gauge your ability to organize your thoughts and communicate clearly in writing, so don't stress about the questions. An example of the writing prompt (you will choose from 2) would be "What methods do you use to stay organized in school?"

You won't need to bring paper or pen, as they will give you both.

Oh ok, thank you so much for the info!! How much did you end up writing and do they tell you your score right away?
