Roseman University ABSN Spring 2018

Published

Hey, has anyone applied to or started the process with Roseman University for the Spring 2018 cohort? I know that the application opens next Friday, but I just wanted to see who all is planning on applying. Has anyone gotten an invitation for an interview yet? I will be applying to the Las Vegas campus. Also, what are your TEAS score, last 60-unit GPA, and prerequisite GPA?

Is there anyone here who currently attends Roseman and can tell me how it is?

I applied - my advisor told me the application went up early (last Thurs). I was told to expect an invitation for a Sept interview but haven't received one yet.

TEAS: 85.3% over all

Last 60: not sure, somewhere around 3.7

Pre-Req: 3.49

Hi @paisling I was told to expect an interview as well. I plan on submitting my application by the 31st. Also, what book did you use to score an 85% on the TEAS? Please help because my score was low.

I used ATI TEAS by Mometrix (the one people sometimes refer to as "the yellow book"). I scored in the 90s for everything except for science. For math I used Khan Academy to refresh on fractions, proportions, etc. I write professionally & as a hobby so I did not spend much time on the English sections, but my tip for that would be to focus on understanding the purpose of a passage and being able to identify different parts of speech as well as the different types of essay (persuasive, expository, etc).

I found the science section to be hard but haven't taken Microbio in 10 years or so and hadn't finished my A&P series - I'm sure being recent on those helps a lot.

Be sure to check out the TEAS forum if you haven't, there is some good discussion there: https://allnurses.com/teas-exam-help/

Good luck! :)

I also applied and was told to expect an interview for September. Most of my official transcripts have not been received by NursingCAS - they are still in transit. The Roseman website states that no invitation will be granted until ALL documents have been received and verified, but my advisor said to just wait for the invitation.

Couple questions:

1. Has NursingCAS successfully received and verified ALL documents for anyone?

2. Has anyone receive an official invitation for this upcoming interview in September with some documents verified, but not all?

Thanks!

My experience is the same as yours!

I got an "application received" email today & it also said the same thing the site says re: verification & interviews. I guess we will see. I can't imagine my transcripts will all be verified in the next week, but my advisor told me the same as yours told you. I think the app was supposed to go up early Aug and didn't go up until late Aug, so maybe they are making exceptions for September?

It seems like they're telling everyone to expect an interview but when I asked they said there's still no guarantee. I haven't submitted my application yet. Also, what is your TEAS score?

I got an interview invite today! :)

Unfortunately, my TEAS score was right under the requirement needed to get an interview (70% or higher), so I have to retake the TEAS before I send in my application. Luckily there is another Interview opportunity in October :) I'm trying to look on the bright side. Congrats to every who's gotten an Interview for September and good luck!

Congrats!! I haven't heard anything yet. My advisor said by the end of the week, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

Did you receive an email stating that you were right under the minimum score to get an interview??

I like your optimism! Study and don't overthink the material.

@Pono No, my advisor told me that I need a minimum 70% to have a chance at an interview but if I had a 75% or higher then I'd be super competitive and guaranteed an interview. My score was a 64% so I have to bring it up. Luckily, instead of her telling me to apply knowing I'd get denied, she told me to retake the exam and just wait for the next interview on October 18th.
