Roseman University ABSN Spring 2018

Published

Hey, has anyone applied to or started the process with Roseman University for the Spring 2018 cohort? I know that the application opens next Friday, but I just wanted to see who all is planning on applying. Has anyone gotten an invitation for an interview yet? I will be applying to the Las Vegas campus. Also, what are your TEAS score, last 60-unit GPA, and prerequisite GPA?

Is there anyone here who currently attends Roseman and can tell me how it is?

What book did you use to study for the teas? @A11027591

I hope everyone's interviews went well! Now... we wait!

Yes the waiting game begins...

I hope we all get in

I actually didn't use a book. I used the TEAS app from Pocket Prep. It has a white background with a red T-looking logo. I bought the full version for $15 and it was almost spot on in terms of topics that needed to be studied! Good luck with everything!!

Hey guys! For those who just had the interview for the Las Vegas campus last week, how many people were at the interview? Was the interview hard? Can you remember any of the questions? I heard the TEAS score is the main deciding factor! What is their acceptance rate?

Please, if there is any other information you can give, that would be great!

Hi JennaAnn23,

I cannot say for others but the interview I had was not as bad as it seem! The interviewer made me feel very comfortable and was super friendly. She asked me behavioral/ scenarios questions regarding any of the following topics: Communication,Leadership/Team Skills,Motivation,Problem-Solving Skills, Professionalism, or Caring/Compassion. An example would be " As a student nurse you may encounter patients whom are angry, unpleasant, or threatening; how would you handle the situation/patient? "

I hope this helps.

Hello JennaAnn23!

There were about 54 people who were interviewed last Wednesday. The entire vibe of the interview was very casual and friendly. My interviewers tried very hard to make my feel comfortable, even though I was still freaking out inside. Like @CZT93 mentioned, the questions were mostly behavioral/scenario questions that touched on the topics mentioned. They told us that we will hear back by 09/29 and that we will either be accepted or put on hold. They said that 90% of the time, the reason you are put on hold is because of the TEAS score. They did not mention anything about acceptance rates. I would say definitely focus on getting a really great TEAS score and as long as you have decent GPA's, you should make it to interviews. As far as getting accepted, I can't speak too much about that but I'm hoping most, if not all of us, made it through!

Hi JennaAnn23,

I agree with @CZT93 and @A11027591. The interview itself was very casual. You either are interviewed with two faculty members (i.e., professors), one faculty member and a current student, or in my case just one professor. They asked you a series of a behavioral based questions to see if you were a good fit for the program. There was also a writing portion. Two questions (i.e., behavioral based as well) were provided and you were to select one - of your choice - and answer it within 15 minutes. The breakdown of the scoring system is as follows: Overall GPA and Math and Science GPA - Maximum points 35, TEAS score - maximum 35 points, writing sample - maximum 12 points, and interview - maximum 18 points. As you can tell, GPA and TEAS score weighs 70%.

Don't stress yourself out too much about the TEAS test. Study hard and do your best! Good luck! I hope this helps! I also hope that those who interviewed last week, including myself, receives good news ASAP. :)

I attended the interview at SJ and it sounds like it was the same as Henderson. The faculty member had a sheet of questions divided into categories, and asked one question from each category. If you can talk about yourself, and your thoughts on nursing, you can answer the questions.

Some questions I was asked:

3 things I have done to prepare myself for nursing school

Is caring & compassion important for a nurse? why or why not?

We only had 15 people interview at SJ.

Hey Pono,

Do you understand the breakdown of the 35 maximum point that can be given for the GPA portion?

Hey Pono,

I thought it was broken down into 5 sections, each worth 7 points - similar to the TEAS evaluation. But the section where it says, "math/science GPA greater than 3.0, ad:additional 3 points," throws me off. Now I don't know anymore haha. What do you think?

How was everyone's TEAS score for those of you who interviewed last week? If you don't mind me asking.
