Next on the list is Leadership in Nursing, who's in?
There may have been a few questions on one of the quizzes that were stats related, but the definitions were in the book as well. No calculations of statistics, only definitions.I took stats in 1990 something as well. No worries...
Thanks for posing the question in the first place because I had the same thought. I took Stats in late 80"s. I asked my advisor if I should "refresh" my memory d/t not having any stats memory to pull from. She said not but I didn't believe her. I will however believe you and not worry about it. I think I am on track to take it next spring and can't let this worry get in the way.
So I decided to take business communication and evidence based practice at the same time during summer. Does anyone think it is doable? I am in the BSN completion, not the academic outreach program. I heard the BSN completion is the easier of the two business communications. I am just worried because I have read the posts about the evidence based practice class. I just don't want to take business communication by itself since it is the whole semester.
I looked at week 4's assignments, and I have to say that I do not get the formulas to figure out the FTE's. Hopefully if I stare at it long enough it will make sense.
Apparently that was a problem for other students the last time Leadership was offered. People posted the answers on All nurses and the thread was completely deleted. So, now we have no history to look at for this. I was bummed they deleted the postings from last fall because there was good information in there before people posted outright answers. Now we have to reinvent the wheel again.

I see, and we can't talk about the answers, good to know.
Ok I get that we can't post outright answers so I will try to post my question in a way that doesn't represent "Cheating"
the week 4 assignment says "you have determined that the nurses are 80% productive" is this the same as productive hours to be paid which is a number we need to complete the calculations to find the FTE. The reason I ask is because using the method of calculation in the book I get a different percentage of productive hours to be paid. In the assignment they say 80% productive. Is this the same or different. I just want to know of what number percent am I supposed to use to finish the calculation.
Is this too ambiguous???

The Business Communication class is spread out over a semester, so is very doable. Depending on the instructor- one Prof F has DB posts due earlier than we are used to, but assignments are grouped in 2 week sets, so not bad.
EBP wasn't bad, except for the quizzes. The first 2 weeks were bad, but in week 3 we figured out that the study guide was truly a study guide. Plus there is extra credit, so you can make up the points from the early quizzes.

I hear you. I think the textbook is not giving adequate information about the formula. We might have to do some research to totally understand them.
