Next on the list is Leadership in Nursing, who's in?

Okay...two DB's for week three are done. YES! I am two weeks away from graduation. I cannot wait to celebrate!!

Still no grades for week 2 for me! I'm curious to see how I did on the quiz.

Oh I am glad for you. This time next year I will be saying the same.

How did you interpret the DB on the assessment. The rubric is not clear. I have emailed the TA to no avail...No grades, no communication...I am beyond frustrated!

My TA sent an email saying the professor had new rubrics for this week's discussion, but there was no attachment to the email! I replied to her and asked for the new rubric but no response. 2 people also left messages on the Q&A board with no response.

Does anyone have the new rubric that they wouldn't mind PMing me? I'd like to at least finish one post tonight.

I was in the same boat. Did NOT receive new rubric...no response from TA. So, I posted my DB anyway. I think after a year and a half of DB posting, I just went with what I thought they were asking in the assessment and supplied extra information.

I am about at my wits end for this class. As embarrassing as it is, the fact remains that I have never worked as a nurse. I live in an area with a new grad unemployment rate of almost 50% after 18 months. I couldn't find a job. Anywhere. Doing any kind of nursing. Let alone in a hospital. So I enrolled in this RN-BSN program hoping that a BSN would open more opportunities for me.

The program requirements were that you have your ADN and be a licensed, not that you be currently working with an ADN and a license. I am finding it nearly impossible to complete these assignments. The instructor/TA said it would be OK to use my last clinical experience, but that was almost 2 years ago and I was only on the unit for 8 weeks. Definitely not enough time to explore leadership issues. And I'm definitely not able to fairly rate the organization or interview the quality control person. After this semester I only have 4 classes left. So I've managed to get almost all the way through the program without my lack of work causing problems.

This class has been a huge blow to my ego and giant reminder that I failed to find a job. I just sit at my laptop and want to cry every time I try and work on these assignments. I have 12 hours before the discussion posts are due and I have no idea what I am going to write. :(

Sorry for the vent. I am just frustrated..... And I still don't have any grades for week 2.

I have not been at work or even in the same state where I live since a family emergency called me away two months ago. I have not been able to interview anyone or speak with anyone by phone. My point is: you can make this work. Just like all the other classes...there is no one policing what you are ACTUALLY doing. And I am not talking of plagarizing. Just finding other resources to write up your points to be made other than a boss/nurse manager you do not have. You can look at the chapters and be creative by exploring the subject matter further with resources available to you on the Internet and through the Ohio University library. It is the virtual interview.

I hope that helps.

I hear ya RNinC....this class is proving to be the most difficult for me also! I have 3 nursing classes left and I have received A's in all my previous classes and I am having a hard time maintaing a high B. I also live in an area where new grad jobs are hard to find, which is why I went right back to school also. Keep your head up!!

This is exactly how I've managed for previous assignments, for some reason these particular discussion posts just seem much more daunting. I guess, for me, it seems more difficult because I don't have any working experience as a nurse and what (very little) we discussed on Joint Commission is school has long since left my memory. So I just don't feel like I even have a starting point or any personal experience to add to the information I find in the book or other sources. I totally acknowledge that I'm just having a pity party for myself and I just need to get it done.

still no grades for week 2. I am so disappointed.

Honestly i dont think this class is bad at all. The work may seem alot but its easy if u put ur mind to it..

This is as bad as evidence based practice! This class is not interesting to me at all n seems so daunting! 2.5 more weeks!!!!
