I don't have anyone to interview either. I am in between jobs and at my last job I was a casual and the nurse managers in that department don't do budgets. If anyone else is a nurse manager with budget experience, please let me know.

Wish I could help all of you that don't have a manager. I am not a manager and can barely run my personal budget let along the entire department's.

On a side note I am finding this staffing paper to be quite hard to write and quite time consuming. Anyone else?

I'm in the same boat!

I have been researching nursing managers and I have decided I would rather not be a nursing manager. It does not look enjoyable at all.

So last night I was finishing up my peer responses for the week 3 discussion board 1 and I noticed it was already graded... And that I was docked points for not having peer responses, which I was in the process of writing. But this was before 11:59 EST. What the heck.

This TA is officially driving me insane.

I too am trying to figure out the calculations for the staffing assignment. I won't give actual numbers, but can someone confirm if they received a higher number (workers per shift) for the census calculation than the variable staff calculation? I just want to see if I did the calculations correct. Thanks!

Bear in mind, I don't know if I'm right...but my census number was significantly higher than my variable as well.

I got something waaaaayyyyy different. great!

Mine is opposite. I'm not sure if I'm correct or not either. But think about this, the census number is based on the census, and the variable is based on the unit beds, so variable should be higher than census since the beds number are greater than census, right? Correct me if you think I'm wrong.

I too got a higher # of FTE/ shift for the census vs the variable. I am assuming that the calculations are correct but I don't know that I would say significantly higher. I did not find the mathematical calculations so difficult just the reasons why it is different considering we can not use the text book to support any justification.
