I'm sure that it's probably waaaay to early for this thread, but I figured what the heck. I have all of my application documents just about ready for submission. Just need to add the self addressed postcard and my check.
My main concern though is my Eng I credit. I already have a BS in Biology. The school I attended rewarded me with the Eng I credit based solely on my ACT score. I was originally going to apply for the Spring 2009 class and as I was reviewing my transcripts, I notice that HCC had not given me credit for Eng I. I contacted the Dean of Student Services at the DM campus about it and he referred me to the Asst Dean. From there it pretty much got ugly. My transcript originally had it listed as CLEP credit but I didn't have any CLEP scores of course. I had transferred several times and was given credit every where I went with no questions asked. Not to mention that I actually already have a BS so you would think that I wouldn't have to worry about any of the general education courses. I told all of this to the Asst Dean and the reply that I got was that the original "college awarded the credit in an unorthodox manner and that it wasn't her fault that HCC had higher standards than the other institutions that I had transferred to." Her email pretty much told me to f off in a not so nice way. It didn't help that I gave her a piece of my mind after receiving such a response. *sigh*
I managed to get my original transcript updated so that it no longer says CLEP. It says "ACT score 28" instead. I had an updated copy sent to HCC along with a letter explaining the change, however HCC has yet to update anything. That was last August. Sooooooo, I will be trotting my happy butt in to see an advisor on Friday and praying like heck that they make the change and accept the credit. Because I already have my BS, I absolutely refuse to go back and take Eng I. I'm not happy at all with HCC's administrative staff, but because I can't find another true evening nursing program that doesn't cost an arm and a leg....I'm pretty much stuck with them. I can't afford to quit my job and go to school full time...if I could I would be doing USF's accelerated program instead. :)
Yeah I was the one that posted the link to the Landau top, it was the cutest one I could find. The Dickies top you mentioned was on the clearance rack at the Uniform City, I tried it on but ended up getting one that was a little different, it had a tie in the back to cinch in the waist a bit and I got it in Clearwater. I would say Tampa had a bigger clearance section but I didn't find anything in my size that worked there. Both stores where very organized and everything was organized by size and the color, I am not sure what size you are but in the XS size Clearwater had more tops that would work. I tried on the Grey's Anatomy pants and they where comfy (fabric was almost as soft as the Koi) they had a little more of a relaxed fit though. The Koi pants come in tall sizes (33" inseam) as well, I know they don't have white in the store but try a pair on just to see because you can always order them online. Thanks for the link to the other store I will have to check them out!
I like the Koi pants, for some reason I didn't know their inseam was that long...I thought I checked them out too, lol. I have looked at so many different ones that I can't remember. I will definitely try them on! I'm 5'10" so a 33" inseam would be great! Thanks for your help...I think I'm gonna go check out Uniform City this weekend!

No problem, I am just so excited for us all! I am just savoring every minute now that I know I am in, I am going to relax and just enjoy preparing because once we are in life is going to be CRAZY! Let me know what you think once you check it out, I hope you get some good deals!
Happymomma: I went to the Uniform City in Tpa today....didn't find any good deals (in the colors I needed) but I did try on the pants and I'm glad I did. When I did my measurements, it said that I needed a medium...well I don't! The mediums were wayyyy too big in every brand/style, and the smalls fit great. The Grey's Anatomy ones that I liked fit HORRIBLY altogether, I am so glad I hadn't already ordered them online. I LOVED the Koi Lindsey ones though, so I'll definitely be ordering those. The had a few white ones in stock, but all XL. I didn't see any of the tops I liked so I didn't get to try any on . I did find this one online that I like (Grey's Anatomy). Oooooo yay shopping trip! Bummer you didn't find any deals but isn't that how life works. I know what you are saying about the pants running big, and not just one brand it is ALL of them. I am so glad you liked the Koi pants, did you notice the difference in how soft the fabric was in comparison to lots of the others. I liked the Grey's Anatomy tops as well but when I held them up to the others they where so not the same color, so my guess would be that that one is the same as the others but it can't hurt to ask. From what I tried on in the store I have found that the tops with the ties in the back definitely flatter the figure better then any of the others. The Landau top that I posted about has a tie in the back. I hope you find a super cute top that you love, you will be wearing it a lot in the very near future!
I think you mentioned in an earlier post you are hoping for DM, did you ask for days or nights? I am hoping for DM days.

My fiance even said that the Cherokee ones felt like sandpaper, rofl! I agree that the tops with ties in the back really look nicer. I just got an email saying that my stethoscope has been shipped! I will have it by Saturday! YAY!! ~ I'll let you know if I hear anything on the hospitals too...as far as the top being the right color, I'm not positive. There is a student that has it, and she said it's ok, but it also probably depends on how strict the instructor is on color...

I ordered my Littmann Cardiology III and got it over the weekend. What a wonderful stethoscope! I've always had problems using one and I love this one and can "hear"!!!! :redpinkhe I can't wait to use it in school!
I turned my acceptance paperwork in the Monday after we received our letters but my check still has not been cashed nor has any of my paperwork been posted in my documents or my status changed from applicant. Has anyone had their check cashed or stuff changed on their HCC profile? Of course because of the worry wart that I am I just hope they received my paperwork that I actually put in the drop box on campus.......
Ok, so that makes three of us that are ordering our supplies EARLY! I don't feel so bad! hahaha! I am having a problem finding a place that sells the Landau top AND the tall Koi pants. I don't want to pay for shipping from TWO places! lol I've emailed the lady from tampabayuniforms.com to see if she can get them (or if she already has them in stock).

I paid with money order, so I can't help you on the check-cashing part...but when I go to my profile in WebAdvisor, it no longer says "applicant"...and also when I go to "Progress toward degree", it lists the nursing courses. Email M.F. tomorrow, she has always been great to email me back quickly. I turned in my paperwork (into the dropbox) first thing that Monday morning also, and emailed her that afternoon and she confirmed that she had received it.
