I am taking som pre reqs now but in the fall I will be taking A&P, Chem1, Beginning Algebra (yuck), Lifespan & Human Development, and Sociology(SP?)
The college here only takes nursing student 1 time a year so I am trying to get in for the fall of next year. Wish me luck...I still have to take the NLN plus pass all my classes with a C or better. I am in WV and will be taking classes from two colleges in the fall MSU and Bluefield State. Bluefield has the nursing program that I want to get into though. Maybe we can all try to help each other out if we have questions...it would be nice to have people to bounce ideas and questions off of. :)
I noticed some people listed their courses and I didn't so here they are! I'd be interested to hear what everyone else is taking for the upcoming semester so if you didn't list them, please do!!
Nutrition for Health (6 months correspondence)
A&P
Human Growth and Development
Next semester:
Medical Microbiology
Nursing Foundations I
A&P
It looks like a pretty good schedule and it's a 60% load .. it should be interesting to get back into studying after a long hiatus, but good!
Entering LAST pre- clinical semester this fall. Taking Micro, First Aid/CPR, and a Phlebotomy course. The last 2 aren't pre-reqs I am just taking them because I want to. Micro is my FINAL pre-req ( thank goodness!)
You might want to make sure your nursing program doesnt require CPRO, which is CPR for the professional rescuer. I'd hate to see you spend money on a first aid/ cpr class thats not up to what they require. I know all of the nursing schools here, require CPRO, ( I luck out as im a ARC Instructor, so I'm certified already in it)
Phlembotomy is a course i've been thinking of adding in spring. Seems to be a good "extra" if you know what I mean. A lot more than the Spanish I I'll be taking! LOL
