So, In applying to different places as a new grad awaiting my boards this month (so scared!!), I needed to provide a potential employer with my temporary license number. Went to look that up and it said "null and void." My first thought - What?!?! Then looked up my name under Registered Nurse and it said ACTIVE - With a license number and everything! I haven't even taken my boards...how could this happen?! Simple human error? I'm waiting for the line at the BON to free up, so I can call them and tell them that I can't be a RN yet!
...Although wish it so easy that you didn't have to spend countless hours studying for an exam that is going to make you more nervous than anything!!! :)
Not sure. Just talked to the board and they have no idea how it happened! Same social and everything. They said I tested on a day that I worked 10 hours!! Need to figure this one out!!!
You can take the test and work 10 hours at the same time?? You are SPECIAL!!!
Really, I feel sorry for the person who actually took the test. Maybe they have the same name as you and possibly mistyped their SS#?? You are so honest to investigate, hopefully that person will finally get the credit for taking the test.
This is so weird, could never happen to me. I would probably be the one who took the test and someone else got the license...
I called last week to see where my ATT was and the BON informed me I'd already taken my boards....in 2004. I had to inform them I actually took my LPN boards in 2004 lol, not my RN boards. Then I mentioned that I found it interesting that they took my money thinking I'd already taken my boards. Silence on the other line lol.
Okay---just call me paranoid---but have you considered the possibility that someone, such as a fellow student, stole your identity? Seriously. Identity theft is raging these days......perhaps you want to check and see if anything else is happening, such as credit card use that isn't valid for you, etc.

that thought also crossed my mind. But who does that, and passes, under the identity of another-wouldn't they want that license number for themselves? Now if they were to intentionally fail...I could see the identity theft as more plausible.

I have a very unique name, and I was checking the BON's website the other day to see if my Temporary Practice Permit number was posted and I found there was an RN with my EXACT NAME AND MIDDLE INITIAL an hour and a half from me....it really freaked me out at first. Then I looked and she got her license when I was 3 months old! I was quite amazed!
