RN school juggling act

Published

Specializes in RN.

I just passed my LPNCLEX and am in my second to last semester for my RN. I worked 3X 12hr shifts per week up until Sept and decided that I just can't make myself crazy while in school. I dropped to per diem status as a CNA, and also got my foot in the door at another local hospital per diem...just to keep my foot in the door at both places. I want to focus on my final 2 semesters and finish with a clear mind and learn this stuff better than I have been.

JUST OUT OF INTEREST:NICE TO SEE WHAT OTHERS ARE JUGGLING

HOW many of us here work? part time/full time

and go to full time school?

Family commitments?

I am very fortunate in that I do not have to work, I have a wonderful hubby. However I am a military wife so I do have a lot on my plate and am often the head of household. We also do not have any kids, even easier. I do work 4-8 hours a week in brand promotions but that is a fun, easy, and stress free job.

So to hear about all the students who have a full plates, I have to give you all a hats off because I don't know if I could ever do it. It is pretty awesome to see so many people get through the schooling with such heavy loads.

No work, no committments. i saved up enough money to go through the program. i study till 8 every night and sometimes take a half day to myself. my school has a 99% nclex passing rate. you cant work fulltime and do my school. maybe part time but have no time to even sit for 10 minutes. depends also what kind of grades you want. if its that important to get all A's and B's working is not an option in my school
