Hi Everybody!!! I'm starting the RN program at CCC in January '09 and was wondering if anybody else is starting in January or if anyone in the Fall '08 class has any advice for us? Thanks!!!!:)

I didn't know Craven was offering Spring admissions? Did that just change?

As far as I know they have always had spring nursing admission. I applied to all the nursing programs in my area and got on the waiting list on all of them except Craven. I signed up for my classes and ordered my uniforms last Wednesday. I've heard good things about the program there and very excited about starting in January. If you haven't applied I encourge you too.

I applied to the program before finishing my B.A. in Fall 06 for Summer 07 entry and was accepted--couldn't accept my seat because of medical reasons--and then became prego and had a baby:) . At that time, as far as I know, there was no Spring Admission--but maybe there was because I was only looking at Summer/Fall Admissions. I will be applying (now that I know) for Spring 2010 admission as a fall back if I don't get in to ECU Alternate Entry or don't get into the BSN program with a full ride (since I have too many credit hours).

Could you tell me how the semesters go:

Is it: Spring, Summer, Fall, Spring, Summer?

or does one of the Summer sessions get omitted for a Fall graduation date?

Thanks!!!!:nuke:

It's Spring/Summer/Fall/Spring/Summer. I think in the past they must have omitted the summer, but changed it back to include summer semester. My graduation date is 9/1/2010. I would apply for Fall (09) and if accepted if you don't get to start that Fall they will have you start in Spring '10. That's what happend to me. :nuke:

Hi,

I was wondering how school is going for you. I've applied for fall admission '09, but I need to take the "TEAS" exam. Hopefully, I will get accepted.

Regards,

Kaystho

Hey Kaystho, Nursing school is going great. It is very fast paced. Unit tests every week (with at least 6 chapters on test). To maintain a B/C you will need to study at least 42 hours a week. When I'm not in class I'm home studying (I'm sure my family and friends think I've falling off the face of the earth...lol). I'm sure you will do great on the TES test. Be sure to get as much of your Pre-Reqs done as possible. Let me know when you get in. Good Luck!!!

Hey, I will be applying for admissions into the Spring 2010 program and I was wondering if you had any advice on getting accepted?

I am so worried about the TEAS exam and was hoping that you might have some words of wisdom for me

Thanks guys :)

I am also applying for Spring 2010. I took the test back in Fall 06 and did very well (and got accepted but declined admission because I was expecting my first child). The math skills are pretty basic--and there were a lot of science questions on the test--but that format could be different now--three years later. They have prep books out there.

Does anyone know if this program permits you to sit for the LPN license after a certain period of time??

I'm planning on going to Craven for my LPN, but I need Chemistry first. Does anyone know if it is being offered ANYWHERE this summer? I've checked Craven and Carteret and they are not. If you know of anywhere that is please let me know.

Thanks

Which chemistry course? You might want to try Lenoir or Pitt, they have more courses term to term to choose from than Carteret or Craven. Possibly Coastal Carolina in Onslow county might too.

Lenoir is offering A LOT more then Craven is. I'm having to take a class there this summer too
