not RN at philippines

Hello

I am new here... my case.. I finish my BSN in our country PHIL. but i am not a LICENSE. i am here at the USA with GC holder.

now, i am planning to take an NCLEX. i am looking what states that i am qualified to take an NCLEX. because here in our place INDIANA they required a license from my country, so i am not qualified here.. I heard that some states doesn't need an RN.. is there anyone here to answer my questions?

Is CALIFORNIA doesn't need an RN?? is that true??

thank u

If your husband is a US Citizen and you are in the process of immigration then you should include that information.

Sad to say that I appealed to 5 different boards of nursing for one girl who wanted to avoid local board in the Philippines.

She was already a permanent resident before she even entered University here; her parents live in the USA.

None of the BONs accepted her reason; none of them relieved her of the local license requirement.

I spoke with the evaluators directly and only one of them stated plainly that if she were a citizen of the USA at the time of application that is the only way she would be exempted from a license in the Philippines. One other state BON said that since she was not a US citizen at the time of graduation from her university then she would have to pass local board in the Philippines in order to be found eligible for NCLEX.

Best of luck to you, but chances are you will still have to get a license in the Philippines.

really??so it means in the written explanation i will tell that I am a GC holder?? like in my case? and i am married to a foreigner?? in my case also, i am not avoiding the local board exam in the philippines, i haven't got a chance to take an exam again its because my visa arrive november last year and i am pregnant that time..

I am still thinking what explanation will i do..

Okay.. now with that information you're actually starting to build a case.

You should state that you are a Permanent Resident of the USA, your husband is an American Citizen and the father of your child and therefore you will be living in the USA and therefore would have no reason to be licensed in the Philippines.

Not saying it'll work.. but at least you have a more convincing argument.

here in indiana they need to be am RN at your home country. that is why i am looking for a states that doesn't need an RN. i have my baby here to taka care, for now we don't have a plan to go back at phil.

Congrats on your new husband and life.

Since you failed your license test in your home land, there is good chance you will fail the NCLEX. My suggestion is to get a health related position in the USA, in a hospital ( admitting, unit coordinator, doctors office, etc). Or better yet stay home and enjoy your baby and study.

Once you have a position, in your community the local health care professionals can assist you in becoming a RN. The test is expensive and the more times you take it the higher the fail rate is. It is best to have an understanding of US healthcare systems since the exam will be changing in a few weeks. Jumping in to take an exam may not be the best thing to do now, since you didn't pass the initial test, why not learn from your mistake and be prepared the second time around ?

ooh? i think it depend on the person how she/he understand the questions, because i have one friend who take an NCLEX before she is not at an RN to PHIL. she passed the exams that was 2001.. now she is working at the hospitals here in the USA.. I am not sure what states she take the exams. I failed NLat PHIL because i did not take it seriously and also some said NCLEX is a textbook base exams, not unlike the NLE.

Yes i know this time i need to be prepared my self, I don't like history repeat itself. here in our place its hard to get a JOB they need to have an experience for a years which i don't have.. and everything here needs to be a license when it comes to healthcare jobs..

you may want to take an english class too.

Yes, she has to sit for the local board this coming July and extend her stay in the Philippines until September for the release of the passing so she can start her application.

Even though she is a permanent resident of the USA and her family (as in ALL of her family) lives in the States; none of the BONs would accept that as a release from her requirement to have local license.

This is 2010; a lot has changed in the last 9 years.

You cannot apply old rules to the current process/procedure.

:lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2: great suggestion...
