Submit a copy of your current nursing license

a. The license must be in good standing and show an expiration date.

b. Please note: If you do not hold a current nursing license you are not eligible to take the

NCLEX through Vermont.

I am not qualified? what else??

Vermont requires you to be licensed. Try Arizona.

I will try to call the arizona tomorrow :-)

thanks again...

All states require you to be a local board passer in your country of origin if you are not a US citizen.

No ifs ands or buts.

Any information you have heard to the contrary is outdated.

Yes, that's true. California is saturated with nurses, both new grads and experienced ones. New grads here are facing enormous competition for jobs.

The CA BRN rules do require that you submit either your current license in your home country (or country in which you were educated) or a letter explaining why you don't have a license. It is entirely up to the BRN whether they accept your explanation and give you a waiver or not. Some people here have gotten CA licenses without having a "home" license, some people have been refused.

However, what ♪♫ in my ♥ was saying is that CA is currently saturated (oversupplied) with nurses and it is very hard to find a job in CA.

In my case, I keep looking what others states that i am qualified to take an NCLEX. CA is the one i think..

for me now, it doesn't matter if the CA is oversupplied of the nurses.. now,i need to get my license first.. then i will try to figure out that soon how will i get a JOB.. my first is concern i am really qualified to take an NCLEX exam at CA. but like u said it depends to them if they will accept my explanation.

my follow up question is.

I don't know about the TOEFL, etc. I would have thought the answer was "yes" but if they don't say so on their website then perhaps not.

It can be nearly impossible to reach the CA BRN by telephone. I have managed a couple times but usually the experience is just as you described.

English exams are for most only required for visa purpose although some states do require English exam, it is stated on the state website and CA currently do not require English exams unless you are applying for a interim permit. CGFNS again is only accepted by a lot of states but CA do not require it as they will do their own assessment. However what you have to realise if CA is not the state you are going to work in then you may still need CGFNS when endorsing license.

Example CA will do their own assessment but really you want to work in Arizona then CES from CGFNS is required by AZ and they will not issue a license without it.
