Hello
I am new here... my case.. I finish my BSN in our country PHIL. but i am not a LICENSE. i am here at the USA with GC holder.
now, i am planning to take an NCLEX. i am looking what states that i am qualified to take an NCLEX. because here in our place INDIANA they required a license from my country, so i am not qualified here.. I heard that some states doesn't need an RN.. is there anyone here to answer my questions?
Is CALIFORNIA doesn't need an RN?? is that true??
thank u
Focus on this.Remember that CABON is enforcing the SSN only rule now, so unless you have an SSN they will not accept your application beyond April 26th, 2010
Huh?? what do u mean that they will not accept my application, if u read my post i said they already accept my application i have already an SSN and i am here at the USA now...
So what happens if you are able to take and pass the NCLEX and are licensed by the CABON? Will you be able to endorse your license to Indiana? I would make sure you check the rules of Indiana BON about license endorsement in your particular situation.
I will not endorse my license here in indiana, I am looking for the states where may qualified my license if ever.
We might move to CA or TEXAS .. we will see..
im a graduate of BSN in manila,Phil NOvember 2009. i did not take the local board in manila since i got my immigrant visa. i am now located in Iowa. am i allowed to take the state board here in Iowa even if i dont have my local license?? or what will i do in order for me to practice my profession?? what are the things that i should do for me to take the state board here?
thank you very much in advance..
Every state requires a local license from the country of origin for non-citizens to apply for licensure.
Individual evaluators may be able to make exceptions if you can prove that you are in the process of citizenship (meaning that you have documents submitted and are merely awaiting processing) but they would be bending the rules to do so.
If you are currently a permenant resident in the USA and have not filled the length of stay requirement to begin citizenship proceedings then you would not be able to convince an evaluator to bend the rules on that regard.
In fact, I only saw it one time when a nurse who had married a US citizen was in the USA on a spousal visa which has a slightly faster course to citizenship. The reason the evaluator bent the rules for her is because there was clear evidence that she was not going to be leaving the USA.
That was a few years ago... a lot has changed since then.
In today's environment it is my professional opinion that you would be unable to convince an evaluator to bend that particular rule.

Hello sorry for the late reply. we are in vacations. by the way about your questions. yes you can take an NCLEX at CALIFOFNIA with out license in our home country, all you gonna do is, if you passed the NCLEX-RN at CA. then you can endorsed your license at IOWA but you need to check first if they need a license to our home country. or if they allowed a license nclex at CA. in my case if ever i will passed the exam i can't endorsed here at indiana because they need a license to our country, hopefully god's will we will move to texas or florida then i can practice my license as a nurse..
