  1. Hello Shiela! May I know your reason in your letter of explanation to BON-CA why you don't have any local license because my wife has similar situation to you. Thanks.
  2. Update: I called the BON Ca today and explained to them my situation.. And they said that my Fiancee can take the NCLEX without a PI license.. Just provide them a letter of explanation and that's it.. Thanks for your help and time allnurses members.. I hope I can help ppl here through my answers. Godbless!
  3. She can take the NLE if she wants to but for what? She's not going to work in the Philippines anyways and if it's not required here in California, there's no reason to take it.. You can save time and money and just spend it on the fees of the paperworks.
  4. I'm arranging my fiancee's papers through fiancee visa.. Any ideas if she needs to take her NLE to work here in California?
  5. It's only going to take about 3-7 months for the fiancee visa to be approved and by that time, my fiancee could be here in California this year. And for that reason, I don't want to wait next year for my fiancee to be here if NLE is not required here in California.. We've been for long distance relationship a long time and it's been really hard for the both of us.
  6. That's one of my reasons Itzallgood.. I'm just wondering if someone have the same problem with me that knows the answer.. Its so true that it's just a waste of money and time if I'm gonna let my fiancee take the NLE then it's not required here in California.. I want to save the money for the fees in paperworks of the fiancee visa.. I'm going to let you know guys what the BON would say to me after I contact them tomorrow.. Thanks Itzallgood for your help.
  7. I already sent an email to the BON here in California.. I might be contacting them tomorrow to find out if it's really required.. I'm going to let you know guys what would be their answer to help also other members who's experiencing my problem.
  8. Thank you for your reply Silverdragon.. That's true that the end decision is with the BON but I want to find out here in allnurses if someone has experienced what I'm experiencing right now.. Regarding the NLE, my fiancee said that the review for the next NLE had already started.. So I don't want to wait for months or years for her to take the NLE and get experience.. It's only a waste of time and money if she take the NLE then its not a requirement here in California.
  9. That's the thing I will really do if I find out license is not a requirement here in California.. I just want to make sure she can practice being a nurse here in California without a license from her origin.
  10. I read this one on the site but one of my coworkers told me that a license is a requirement starting this year but I cannot find the answer to my questions on the net.. That's why I post a thread here so I will find an answer from people who have similar experience with me. Thank you for your reply Itzallgood.. People here are really helpful.
  11. Sorry for the late reply.. I just got off from work.. Back to the topic, I want to thank you for your reply tobby_walter.. The reason why my fiancee will not take the NLE because she will not be practicing her profession in the Philippines.. I want to speed up everything because we've been for long distance relationship for 2 years and its very hard for us to stay like this.. In my experience, I didn't take the NLE in the Philippines since I'm a US citizen but I'm just wondering if its going to be the same.. I really appreciate your reply.. Again thank you.
  12. Hi! Good evening to allnurses members.. I'm an American citizen residing here in California working as a RN.. I just have a question regarding the Fiancee visa.. I decided to arrange the papers of my Fiancee who is currently living in the Philippines right now thru Fiancee Visa.. She graduated from nursing school last May,2009 and I just want to find out..Before she's going to be here in California, does she still need to take her local board exam in Philippines before she can practice to be a RN here in California? What other test does she need to pass before being eligible to be RN here in California? I know the other things she need just in case she only needs to pass the NCLEX exam (like SSN, working permit and being married when she will be here in USA).. I would really appreciate all your help.. Godbless to all!
