1. You need an international money order for US dollars, payable to the secretary of state, your bank issues this is there will be a small charge.

2. the link below will take you to the contacts page.

http://www.sec.state.vt.us/secdesk/contact.html

3. You will send all your paper work in at once - I understand that your School of Nursing sends your verification of Education in a sealed envelope (if you need to send this) - if you have an agency they will advise you, you should read the advice on the Vermont website if you need further clarification.

The application has two boxes that you choose from and they are as follows:

"I have practiced nursing as defined in 26 VSA. 1576 for at least (check the appropriate statement):

120 days (960 hours) in the last five years

50 days (400 hours) in the last two years"

I don't know what 26 VSA is but I'm sure if you looked through their site you could find out.

hello...my question is WHAT IF I HAVE NO HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE OR WORKING EXPERIENCES IN THE LAST 2 YEARS OR 5 YEARS? BUT I COMPLETED MY RELATED LEARNING EXPERIENCE WHEN I WAS STILL A STUDENT. TNX

Hello and good day to everyone,

After much reading and research on this forum, I have decided to apply for licensure to Vermont BON. Just like the other applicants here, I have some confusions regarding the following:

1. Since I have undergone 6 months work as a Nurse trainee, I wonder if I have to check one of the boxes here, and if so, which one? OR do I just have to leave it blank? OR do I have to check the 120 days, as one of the posters here suggested as my RLE college training

"I have practiced nursing as defined in 26 VSA. 1576 for at least (check the appropriate statement):

a. 120 days (960 hours) in the last five years OR

b. 50 days (400 hours) in the last two years"

2. About the payment, I wonder if any of you here use BPI demand draft for payment. If not, what bank can you suggest?

3. The school will only have to send the TOR and Course Description together with the form? No need for RLE?

4. In the application, Am I answering the ff. questions correctly:

a. child support - NO

b. Taxes - Yes

c. unemployment contributions -Yes

5. I will only be sending the application form and the payment?

Thank you very much for your assistance. I deeply appreciate it.

And training done during school for your RLE is not considered work experience and can never be included or considered as that. That was a student only and you were not working under your own license then.

Hello Suzanne,

Thanks for your reply. Does that mean that I should not check any box on this particular question?

"I have practiced nursing as defined in 26 VSA. 1576 for at least (check the appropriate statement):

___120 days (960 hours) in the last five years OR

___ 50 days (400 hours) in the last two years"

What do you suggest? Shall I just leave it blank and attach an explanation letter. I have emailed the BON regarding this but they have an automated reply that does not answer my specific question. I understand the bulk of their work.

Can anyone here have suggestions too? I plan to send my application this week but this particular question kept me hanging.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I suggest you get some nursing experience and save your money. If that is a requirement and you don't have it why waste your money.

My experience...

1.6 mos volunteer? jst leave it blank or put a "0" and add a cover letter stating that you havent found work yet..if employed then you have to fill it out

2.Bank/demand draft in dollars (must have dollar account)..i used landbank

3.Our school registrar knew what to do when i handed the VT Verification of Education form

4.That was how I answered them

5.include a fotocpy of your license, pasport, etc(look at the instruction page)

goodluc! Ace the exam! strength to the filipino!

Good day again,

How do I inform the Vermont BON about my change of mailing address? I submitted my application for licensure 3 weeks ago, but I will transfer residence next month. Do I inform them through email, phone or do I have to make a letter and send it to them through post?
