RN in Fl IPN

Published

I'm currently in IOP and was wondering if anyone has gone through this and found employment while under contract.

Thanks!

I found employment on my first interview. I was totally honest and explained my situation. I work for a nurse practitioner who is awesome and believes in second chances

There are people out there who believe in seconds!

Yes you can find employment. Network with your nurse support group. Where so you live in Florida?

try phone triage jobs- they are still clinical but no meds or bedside nursing- I know trustbridge hospice hires IPN nurses. Goodluck!

jacksonville, Sorry for the late response.

I was able to get a job at Baptist in Jax on the first try. YMMV. I am a recovering alcoholic, and my contract didn't remove my ability to pass narcotics. I was up front and honest about my recovery and found that people were very supportive. During my entire 5 year contract, I was never turned down for a job. I "graduated" 9 years ago, IPN changed my life. Best of luck to you.

Absolutely, first job I sought, after beginning of three years stipulation, as MDS coordinator in LTC facility....which evolved to three different DON positions after completion........;)

Wow! That's great. I've seen conflicting posts on when to present my status. At what point in the interview process should I disclose my IPN contract?

That's great! Im not having the best of luck so far. Would you recommend any department At Baptist I should apply for? I have not worked in the hospital before, but I have 4 years total home health. 3 as an LPN, and 1.5 yr as a RN. thx!

Sorry, I left Florida in 2011. Good luck though!

So I applied at a LTC facility and was basically offered the job until I disclosed my IPN status.:( The director did not believe that I was sent to IPN for failing a pre-employment test or THC.
